A Message to Our LADS Community
As we close out 2025, we’re reminded once again of the strength, resilience, and generosity of our Los Angeles dental community. We extend our deepest gratitude to President Dr. Howard Kim and our esteemed Board of Directors for their exceptional leadership this year. Their vision and dedication helped LADS flourish in 2025.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Parvaz Mizrahi as our 2026 President. Her passion for service and commitment to our community promise an inspiring year ahead.
Finally, thank you to you — our members. Whether you volunteered your time, participated in events, completed CE courses, or simply stayed connected, you are the heart of this organization. LADS exists to support your professional journey, amplify your voice, and strengthen your community.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a strong start to the new year.
With appreciation,

Bond, Brunch & Business
LADS kicked off the quarter with Bond, Brunch & Business at Redbird, bringing together dental students and early-career dentists for an afternoon of connection and candid conversation.
Attendees enjoyed thoughtful discussion on career paths, practice ownership, and finding their place in the profession — all over great food in a beautiful setting.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our partners at the ADA and CDA for their support.

Associate to Owner:
Practice Transition Seminar
LADS hosted the Associate to Owner Practice Transition Seminar at Zinc Café, bringing together dentists interested in the path to practice ownership. Attendees heard practical insights from a legal professional, CPA, lender, and real estate expert on navigating ownership legally, financially, and strategically.
The evening offered valuable guidance, thoughtful Q&A, and meaningful connections over food and drinks. Thank you to our speakers and everyone who joined us for this engaging and informative event.

Smart Money Moves for Dentists
Our Smart Money Moves for Dentists webinar delivered practical financial strategies for every stage of a dental career—from managing student debt to planning for retirement and practice ownership. Speaker Josh Lantz of MD Financial guided attendees through tax-efficient investing, retirement vehicles, and ways to minimize lifetime tax burdens.
We appreciate all who participated and thank MD Financial for supporting this valuable program.

Sneak Peek at 2026 California Labor Laws
In November, LADS members joined Senior HR Compliance Director Giuliana Gabriel for a timely “Sneak Peek at 2026 California Labor Laws.”
The webinar highlighted key federal and state changes on the horizon, including wage and hour updates, Form I-9 enforcement, and new compliance expectations for employers. Attendees left with concrete next steps to update policies, practices, and training.
Special thanks to the California Employers Association for making this session free for our members.

LADS Presents: Mind, Body & Practice
LADS hosted a rejuvenating wellness summit at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Dr. Kyle Stanley, Dr. Rana Al Rasheed, and Dr. Elizabeth Komet shared evidence-based tools for mental resilience, stress regulation, and movement health tailored to the demands of dentistry. With CE credit, lunch, and time to connect, the event centered the well-being of the provider as a critical part of patient care.
Thank you to our speakers, sponsors, and all who made this inaugural wellness event a success.

CPR/BLS & Radiation Safety Certification Courses
Throughout the fourth quarter, LADS continued to support members with essential CPR/BLS and Radiation Safety certification courses. These hands-on trainings help dentists and teams stay compliant with Dental Board requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety in their practices.
We are grateful to all attendees for prioritizing life-saving skills and to our instructors for their expert guidance.
Join us for CPR/BLS and Radiation Safety courses in February!

CDA House of Delegates
LADS was proud to be well represented at this year’s CDA House of Delegates. Thank you to CDA for hosting another impactful House and to outgoing President Dr. Max Martinez for his leadership. Congratulations to incoming CDA President Dr. Robert Hanlon.
A special point of pride: LADS members and past presidents Dr. Scott Kim and Dr. Joan Otomo-Corgel were elected to two of the three open CDA board positions this year. And our thanks to all LADS delegates for their time, service, and thoughtful advocacy on behalf of the Los Angeles dental community.

SmileCon 2025
Thank you to those who attended ADA’s SmileCon 2025. It was inspiring to see our LADS community so well represented on the national stage. We are especially proud of LADS members and past presidents Dr. Scott Kim and Dr. Joan Otomo-Corgel for their leadership and engagement throughout the conference.
It was also a pleasure to connect with CDA President Dr. Max Martinez and to celebrate the strength of our tripartite partnership — LADS, CDA, and ADA — working together to advance the future of dentistry.
