Hi Jason,

Denver Inner City Parish is deeply honored to be recognized by the AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), celebrating over 24 years of meaningful partnership. Through this longstanding collaboration, we have been able to provide essential resources that make a real difference in the lives of older adults in our community. From access to our food pantry, which supplies nutritious meals, to educational programs that promote healthier lifestyles, our efforts are focused on supporting seniors in need.

Our work extends beyond providing for basic needs. We offer engagement opportunities that allow older adults to stay connected, active and involved in the community. Educational programs help empower them with knowledge, while social services ensure they feel supported. We are proud of this ongoing relationship with SCSEP and remain committed to fostering a positive, enriching environment where older adults can thrive.

As we continue to grow together, this recognition underscores the vital impact of collaboration in improving the quality of life for the senior members of our community.

Quotes from AARP/ SER Staff

Get ready for a night of excitement at DICP’s Tequila & Quesadillas event, where games and entertainment are sure to keep the energy high!

Experience the classic Mexican game of Lotería! Just like bingo, but with a fun twist. Choose your game card, listen closely to "El Gritón," and mark the images as they’re called. Be the first to shout "BUENAS" or "Lotería" when your card is full to win!

Pick your horse and roll the dice! Watch as your chosen horse moves closer to the finish line with each roll. The first horse to complete the race wins, but ties will also be awarded!

Aim, throw, and win! You have 4 chances to hit the right color on the board and claim a prize. But be careful - if your ball touches a line, no win!

Ready, aim, and fire! You’ll get 13 Nerf darts and 60 seconds to knock down as many ducks as you can. Score 60 points or more to win a prize!

Partnering for a Greater Impact

Denver Inner City Parish & We Don’t Waste

We are proud to collaborate with We Don’t Waste (WDW), an incredible local nonprofit making a difference in neighborhoods throughout Denver. WDW rescues millions of pounds of food each year and redistributes it to dozens of community partners across the metro area, and we’re fortunate to be one of them.

Every Thursday morning, their truck arrives with about 1,000 pounds of fresh, high-quality food, including a nourishing mix of produce, meat, dairy, and even healthy snacks. This food plays a vital role in what we offer to our community, and we are so grateful for the partnership.

If you haven’t yet explored We Don’t Waste or their amazing new facility, we highly encourage you to check them out and support their mission!
