Is Crime Down in Denver?

Colorado Democrats claim that crime is down in Denver, but the reality may be more complicated. Are we safer, or are the statistics hiding the truth?

Candidate Spotlight - Mickey Neal

Mickey Neal, Candidate for State House District 3

Mickey Neal is running as the State House District 3 Republican Candidate. She hails from the state of Kansas and received her clinical doctorate from Wichita State University. Mickey is a Physical Therapist, not a career politician. She runs a strong race in her district, fighting for the needs of her people. When told her race is tough and competitive, she responds, “So am I. Game on!”

Mickey’s aspirations reach higher than those of becoming a legislator. She desires to be a new face of the conservative movement. She wishes to run a campaign emphasizing reason, compassion, charisma, practical solutions, and a heart with conservative values.

Her ultimate desire is to shape the future of Colorado by putting power back in the hands of the people. She believes legislators empower individuals by respecting their finances and enabling communities to flourish. Mickey supports legislation that improves state GDP via our domestic oil reserves to reduce the cost of living. To improve communities, she desires to reform homelessness through medical interventions and improve their mental health. She affirms the right of individuals to determine the density of their neighborhoods. She does not support taxpayer funding of illegal immigration or Colorado’s position as a sanctuary state. Lastly, Mickey hopes to bring fresh ideas for medical reform by increasing competition among insurance providers.

Now more than ever, we need legislators who are not career politicians. Mickey’s current goal is to canvass 10,000 doors; she has reached over 4,500. She is attempting to raise $5,000 to deliver 10,000 letters to apartment residents. Join the race! If you want to help support Mickey, you can check out her website at MickeyNeal.com. The future is freedom. Together, let’s work to put power back in the hands of the people!

Political News

The Rocky Mountain Rumble: Colorado Conservatives Unite

Hundreds of conservatives gathered at the Wide Open Saloon in Sedalia this weekend for the first-ever Rocky Mountain Rumble. With President Trump facing another assassination attempt just hours before the event, the rally became a powerful declaration of solidarity in troubled times. Speakers included Republican congressional candidates from the Denver area, including Valdamar Archuleta, Sergei Matveyuk, Lauren Boebert, and John Fabbricatore. Heidi Ganahl, founder of the new conservative media site The Rocky Mountain Voice, urged voters to dedicate at least one hour a day to reclaim the country's direction.

Trump Blames Biden-Harris Rhetoric for Assassination Attempt

President Donald Trump, in an exclusive interview, blamed President Biden and Vice President Harris’ “inflammatory rhetoric” for this weekend's assassination attempt against him, marking the second such incident since July. Trump stated that the gunman acted on the divisive language from Democrats while reiterating his commitment to “save the country” from their policies. As tensions rise, the question remains: Whose rhetoric is fueling the dangerous political climate?

Schools

New Social Studies Curriculum Introduces Sensitive Topics

Colorado’s revised social studies curriculum introduces sexually charged topics to students as young as first grade, including lessons on Harvey Milk and LGBTQ history. While these new teaching materials are optional, parents are not notified or given the opportunity to opt their children out of these discussions in social studies. Parents should be aware of what is being taught in the classroom.

Parental Rights Under Fire in Colorado

Three Colorado families have filed a federal lawsuit against Jefferson County Public Schools, alleging the district violated their parental rights by not disclosing that children on a school trip would share rooms based on gender identity rather than biological sex. One family’s 11-year-old daughter discovered she would be sharing a bed with a biological boy, raising concerns about privacy and parents’ rights to make informed decisions.

Parents Push Back on Denver Schools' Seal of Diversity Program

Denver parents are raising concerns over a new “Seal of Diversity” program in local schools, which allows students to earn an award by taking classes such as Queer Literature and Gender Studies. The Colorado Parent Advocacy Network is petitioning for an investigation, arguing that the program pushes political agendas and undermines essential academic foundations. Parents are calling for greater accountability, emphasizing the need for education that prepares students for the real world, not divisive ideologies.

Colorado Parent Advocacy Network is a 501c4 non-profit that provides resources to parents with children in Colorado schools.

Government Overreach

A Utility - Wanting Government Approval

Xcel Energy is set to propose a shift in its peak electricity rates starting in 2025, potentially extending summer peak hours and slightly lowering rates during those times. While Xcel claims the changes will benefit customers, critics argue that families may struggle with higher costs during crucial evening hours. The proposal raises concerns about affordability and convenience for hardworking Coloradans.

Crime and Gangs

Is Governor Polis Ignoring a Dangerous Reality in Aurora?

Despite clear evidence, including video footage and statements from Aurora’s mayor, Governor Jared Polis dismissed concerns about Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua taking over apartment buildings in Aurora as mere “imagination.” This troubling response has sparked outrage, especially as local officials and residents confirm the gang’s presence. Is the Governor downplaying a serious threat to public safety, or is there more to the story?

Mayor Coffman Sounds the Alarm as Venezuelan Gangs Infiltrate Aurora

Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman recently acknowledged that Venezuelan gangs have infiltrated several apartment complexes in the city, calling the situation “a nightmare.” Video footage has surfaced showing armed men breaking into apartment units, highlighting the severity of the issue. While Coffman insists the entire city isn’t overrun, he admits the city has lost control and is working aggressively to regain it.

Migrant Gang Violence: A Growing Concern in Colorado

Despite claims from Democratic leadership, law enforcement in Arapahoe County is dealing with “real” migrant gang violence, with open investigations and active cases. District Attorney John Kellner highlights the ongoing threat, citing a recent deadly shootout and home invasions linked to gangs like Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua. This issue underscores the dangers posed by failed border policies that are now impacting cities far from the southern border.

Venezuelan Gang Members Confirmed By ICE

Four illegal Venezuelan nationals, confirmed members of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang, were arrested in Aurora, Colorado, following a violent shooting. Despite crossing the southern border illegally in 2022 and 2023, these gang members were released into the U.S. under the Biden administration’s border policies. As crime escalates in Aurora, this incident raises serious questions about the administration's handling of border security and public safety.

TABOR

How Colorado Democrats Are Skirting TABOR and Raising Your Costs

Colorado’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) was designed to limit government growth by requiring voter approval for tax increases. However, since its enactment, state officials have created fee-based enterprises exempt from TABOR, allowing fees to skyrocket by 3,000%. These hidden costs are driving up the cost of living without taxpayer consent.

November Ballot Guide

Proposition 131 - Ranked Choice Voting and Open Primaries

Proposition 131 would change Colorado’s election process by introducing Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) and open primaries. All voters, regardless of party, could vote in an all-candidate primary, and the general election would use an “instant run-off” where voters rank their choices.

Republicans, Democrats, and the Green Party of Colorado have all come out against the Proposition funded by billionaire Kent Thiry.

What Will Change?

Open Primaries: Eliminates party nominations for the primary ballot, allowing all candidates to compete, and voters of any party to participate.

Ranked Choice Voting (RCV): Voters will rank candidates in the general election, with instant run-offs determining the winner if no one secures a majority.

Major Concerns

Loss of Party Influence: Political parties lose their role in nominating candidates, potentially giving more power to wealthy individuals or special interests.

Voter Confusion: Ranked Choice Voting can be complex and unfamiliar, potentially disenfranchising elderly, low-income, and minority voters.

Track Record: Over 85% of jurisdictions in the U.S. that have implemented RCV eventually repealed it due to dissatisfaction with outcomes.

Your Vote Matters!!!

Consider how these reforms may hinder your selection of conservative candidates in Denver and Colorado.
