Overview of 2024 Colorado Republican Primary Race

Colorado Poised for Pivotal Nomination Role

The Colorado Republican presidential primary on March 5, 2024 has attracted several high-profile GOP candidates, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and former President Donald Trump, pending a lawsuit resolution. Additional candidates like North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy also made state party consideration before the December 11 deadline, while others have suspended campaigns. Before mail-in ballots are distributed on February 12, the clear front-runner boasts substantial resources and name recognition, albeit with variables from legal issues to statewide appeal that leave the race open with under three months until Colorado Republican voters select their preference.

Political Slip-Up Chronicles: Rep. Epps' Unfiltered Confession

Political Slip-Up Chronicles: Elisabeth Epps' Unfiltered Confession

Ben Murrey Exposes the Unspoken Agenda Behind the Special Session

In a riveting moment of truth, Ben Murrey skillfully catches Rep. Elisabeth Epps red-handed, exposing a political slip-up that sends shockwaves through the airwaves. Representative Epps, perhaps inadvertently, admits that the special session was a cunning strategy to resurrect Prop HH, a proposal that voters had decisively rejected at the ballot box. The revealing exchange, captured in a must-watch video, peels back the layers of political maneuvering, leaving viewers to question the transparency of the process. Murrey's astute journalistic instincts unravel a tale of hidden agendas and underscore the challenges of navigating the fine line between public interest and political tactics in the ever-evolving landscape of democracy.

Political News

Dems Can't Wait to Spend Your Money

Legislators have already proposed 54 new bills before the session starts, including sly "enterprise" fees to bypass taxpayer protections. The upcoming legislative session has Democrats giddy to spend money on their pet projects. They've drawn up 54 new bills to introduce on everything from electric vehicles to gun laws. One proposal even creates a shady "Enterprise" to raise vehicle fees while dodging Colorado's Taxpayer Bill of Rights. This rush to spend without voter input tramples over taxpayer protections. Haven't Coloradans suffered enough unchecked hikes already? Get ready to tighten your belts as Democrats figuratively and literally nickel-and-dime residents.

Crime Still Rampant Despite Laws

Despite Democrats' claims that recent laws would stop surging crime, illegal gun violence continues plaguing communities across Colorado. Residents remain on edge as brazen offenses keep climbing despite officials' promises. We need leaders who realize slap-on-the-wrist approaches endanger public safety. How many headlines of random shootings, assaults and thefts must families see before policies actually get tough on criminals? Democrats offer talking points while neighborhoods live in unease. Coloradans deserve real solutions, not more hot air from lawmakers posturing for votes.

Schools Skip Accountability

Over one-third of Colorado students chronically miss school with little accountability. Additionally, superintendents bristle at making districts more efficient, ignoring voters who expect responsibility for approved tax hikes. This absenteeism by both students and administrators shortchanges children's futures and taxpayers alike. Yet school officials cry poverty at any suggestion of belt-tightening while kids not grasping basics fall through the cracks. We must demand accountability along with checking blank checks. Colorado's schools steadily degrade as they claim underfunding despite record funding. Our students and teachers deserve better than a system demanding endless funding for poor performance.

When Politics Clashes with Education Finance

In a daring move, Governor “Polis sent a letter asking for school districts to lower mill levies. The Colorado Association of School Executives sent a reply stating that it is irresponsible to ignore what voters have agreed to. They argued that ignoring the agreements made by voters would be nothing short of irresponsibility, creating a clash between political agendas and the fiscal demands of education. As the battle unfolds, it raises crucial questions about the delicate balance between satisfying taxpayer concerns and ensuring the financial stability of educational institutions, leaving us to ponder whether biting the hand that feeds you is ever a wise strategy in the realm of public education.

Tax Relief Talk, Not Action

Despite clear voter frustration on skyrocketing property taxes seen in the failure of Proposition HH, Colorado lawmakers only posture rather than take real action. A special legislative session made minor tweaks to assessment rates but nothing to address the core problem of relentless government overspending fueled by our tax dollars. Typical bait-and-switch. Democrats paint critics as anti-education while clamoring for unlimited public money. All while parents struggle managing household budgets crushed by crushing tax bills. This insulting posturing without tax relief demonstrates tone-deaf legislators disconnected from the real pressures families now face.

Ranked Voting Scheme

Progressives champion ranked choice voting as a beacon of diversity in candidate options, promising a more inclusive electoral process. However, a closer look at the recent Boulder mayoral race reveals a different narrative. Initially appearing as a potential upset with Councilmember Bob Yates, a former Republican, leading, the tide shifted dramatically under the influence of ranked choice voting. Incumbent Mayor Aaron Brockett, a self-described liberal Democrat, surged ahead, showcasing the impact of this controversial system. While supporters argue it promotes center-left candidates, skeptics point out how it can skew results, allowing even fringe candidates to triumph. The Boulder election becomes a fascinating case study, questioning whether ranked choice voting truly serves the voters or is just another tool for political manipulation.

Colorado’s Natural Medicine Policy Is Under Threat From Dark Money

Governor Polis' appointed an advisory board to oversee the legalization of psilocybin mushrooms has been riddled with legal and ethical problems. Two DC-based, left-wing super PACs have spent millions to sway the process in favor of donors, while associates of the dark money campaign lobby officials without legally registering. The board chair, Lundy (who doesn't use a last name), runs a psychedelic therapy business, while writing the rules for their own industry, a clear case of self-dealing. Polis needs to hold his appointees accountable and curb the influence of dark money if he wants to ensure a transparent and fair policy that serves the public interest, not corporate profits.
