So what’s G2211?
It’s an add-on billing code that gives clinicians extra reimbursement for providing complex, ongoing care, the kind that involves time, coordination, and expertise, especially for kids with chronic or complicated health needs. Think of it as Medicaid finally putting a price tag on the behind-the-scenes work that goes into caring for medically complex kids over the long haul.
And New York recently became the first state to reimburse code G2211.
If New York’s rollout shows that G2211 helps sustain high-quality pediatric care, it could become a blueprint nationwide. States looking for smarter ways to support pediatric practices will want to keep an eye on how this plays out.
Bottom line: this is a policy worth watching. New York might just be setting the pace for the future of pediatric payment reform.

Flood the Feed
Drs. Sallie Permar, Theresa Scott, Sean Cullen, and Ilina Ewen attended the inaugural DocFluCon to learn more about how to use social media in advocacy. The conference, organized by DocFluencer, MDO, featured an array of physician content creators who advocate for issues like Medicaid, ending child detention, vaccines, and SNAP. There was even a “rage room” featuring piñatas with phrases like “Vaccines Cause Autism” and “Natural = Safe” that served as a cathartic nod to some of the frustrations physicians face everyday.
Dr. Theresa Scott shares that "Any physician who is passionate about advocacy should attend DocFluCon. Not only did I learn how to use social media to share my voice, but I saw countless examples of how it has been successful in creating change. I left with dozens of connections, practical tips, and content that I can start sharing immediately."
For Dr. Sean Cullen, the experience was just as affirming: “The chance to attend the DocFluCon conference was a real blessing. It was inspiring, educational, and motivating. Being around physicians and other healthcare workers who want to improve the lives of their patients using the incredible reach of social media highlighted both the potential and responsibility that comes with doing so. I honestly hope more pediatricians will attend future conferences and take the opportunity now to use their expertise and voice to speak up for our patients and their families. I have been inspired to do just that.”

Political Activity and University Resources: A Reminder
As election season is in full swing, Weill Cornell Medicine faculty, staff, and students are reminded that university resources may not be used to support or oppose political candidates or campaigns.
University Policy 4.18 prohibits using Cornell’s name, logo, email accounts, social media, equipment, or other resources for campaign activity. You may receive campaign communications at your Cornell email address, but responses should come from a personal account.
As private citizens, you may participate fully in political activities like volunteering, communicating with policymakers, and contributing to candidates—as long as you do not use university resources or imply you are speaking for the institution.
