Atlanta Streets Alive Support the City of Atlanta Bicycle Coalition
Cross City - West to East
On Sunday, June 9, 2019 , the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is activating nine miles combining our Eastside and Westside routes from 2018 into one slightly audacious and delightfully cohesive Atlanta Streets Alive Cross-City. This route not only opens streets to people but also highlights the need for safe and connected streets along Marietta Street and Howell Mill Road on the Westside as well as DeKalb Avenue and Decatur Street on the Eastside.

From 2 - 8 p.m. , the streets will be closed to cars and open for people to walk, roll, bike and play! And BONUS, the City of Decatur will launch its first open streets by adding West Howard Avenue into the mix, bringing this route to a total of 10 miles of open streets. Parade lineup is at 1:30 p.m. for a 2 p.m. launch at the corner of West Marietta St. and Howell Mill Rd. FREE bike decorations will be available while supplies last!

After the opening program and kickoff parade, visit Activity Partners and Route Hosts along the route for a wealth of interactive experiences hosted by community organizations, local businesses and our sponsors. You can explore the open street from end to end or enter and exit the route at any cross street at any time during the six-hour activation.

Atlanta Streets Alive is FREE and fun for all ages . It’s also more than just a one-day event, it’s a program and everyday endeavor that helps us, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition lay the groundwork for bigger change and safer streets. Through this initiative, we put our Advocacy into Action. Bring your friends and family, and share in the experience of enjoying our city streets as public space!
