The proposed Derry Township 2021 budget is available for the public to review on the Township website. In addition, copies are available to the public at the administration building upon request. The Township Board of Supervisors is expected to vote on the budget at its December 15, 2020 meeting.
Was It Delivered..Or Was It Stolen?
It is that time of year and online shopping is increasing with the Holiday gift season upon us. With those ever-increasing package deliveries, comes the opportunity for “porch pirates” or “box bandits” to steal the things we have delivered to our homes. Our police department has recently taken reports of packages being stolen from outside of residences. We have listed some tips from agencies and companies to keep your items safe from being stolen from the front porch of your residence on our website at:
Holiday Fraud
The National Philanthropic Trust estimates that 30% of all charitable giving occurs in the month of December. The reasons are obvious. Unfortunately, fraudsters are also aware of this also and opportunistically use the holiday season to take advantage of our humanitarian nature.

The Derry Township Police Department encourages you to give generously during this season, however, cautions that not all charities are legitimate operations, and many will be seeking to prey on your feelings of good will. Every year we receive reports of citizens donating to fraudulent organizations and many times there is little that can be done to recover victims misdirected funds.

The website is a fantastic resource you can use to check the authenticity of any organization claiming to operate as a non-profit charity. The site offers the ability to quickly confirm the legitimacy of the charity and review their financial accountability and transparency score.
