Resolution 2020-15 to Aid Local Businesses to Expire
A Derry Township program designed to help local businesses and restaurants during the pandemic is set to expire in September.

On June 9, 2020, the Derry Township Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 2020-15 and associated guidelines that provided relief of certain requirements and special opportunities to businesses as they worked to safely reopen and operate during the Governor’s Covid-19 Disaster Declaration. The Township’s program includes provisions for reserving public parking spaces for curbside pickup, allowing outdoor dining and display areas within private parking areas, and suspending sign enforcement during the term of the program.

Stop this Invader! Spotted Lanternfly
The spotted lanternfly, native to Asia, is an invasive and extremely destructive pest that threatens important agricultural commodities, including the grape, hardwood, tree fruit, and landscape.

If you see a spotted lanternfly, report it immediately online at https://services.agriculture.pa.gov/SLFReport or call 1-888-4BADFLY (1-888-422-3359). Importantly, when spotted kill it, squash it, smash it, just get rid of it.

Ben & Tim Day
On January 23, 1992, Ben Yupcavage and Tim Russell, both Hershey High School athletes, were tragically killed in an automobile accident. In their memory, the Yupcavage and Russell families established the Tim Russell – Ben Yupcavage Memorial Scholarship Fund. Now in its 30th year, the event which has become known as “Ben & Tim Day”, has maintained this scholarship fund in loving memory of and as a tribute to Ben and Tim.

The Yupcavage and Russell families extend their deepest appreciation to the dedicated organizers and generous sponsors of each year’s event and to countless friends and neighbors who come each year to honor and remember Ben and Tim. It is this dedication and support that enables the scholarships given in their memory to deserving Hershey High School students.
