Census Office Letters
The Township has received word of a suspicious mailing which certain residents have received recently. The mailing refers to the “Township of Derry Census Office” and asks for occupancy information from the owner of the residence/property. The Township reached out to the Tax Collection Association and has found this mailing to be legitimate; not a scam or phishing attempt. The mailings are sent out to the owners of properties for which there are no residents listed and may be rental properties or properties owned as a second home. The information gathered is used to determine Township and School District occupational taxes as required by Township Code. Anyone who may have received this mailing in error or may have questions about the mailing can contact the Tax Office at (717) 534-1915.
