Derry Township Supervisors Meeting
The public is invited to attend the Derry Township Board of Supervisors Meeting on Tuesday, March 9th at 7:00 p.m. For instructions on how to join the virtual call, please visit our website.
Township Shred-It Event for April 10
Derry Township invites its residents to bring personal documents that need to be shredded to its Shred-It Event, Saturday, April 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Derry Township Public Works Facility, 650 Clearwater Road.

Only sensitive documents that require shredding, including papers that contain personal information such as full social security numbers or credit card numbers, should be brought to the Shred-It event. Derry Township offers this service for residents to shred personal documents a few times a year.

Magazines, junk mail, telephone books, cardboard and glossy paper may be recycled by dropping them off at the Derry Township Recycling Center. You also may place newspapers and cardboard in your Waste Management Recycling Bin.

Discovering Your Patriot Ancestor with Sarah Gutmann
Saturday, March 8 - 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Discovering Your Patriot Ancestor with Sarah Gutmann: Think you may have an ancestor who served in the Continental Army or contributed to the Patriot cause in the Revolutionary War? Learn where to look and how to verify the information. The program will also touch upon entrance requirements for the Sons/Daughters of the American Revolution.

Friends of the Hershey Public Library is holding a pop-up book sale operating during regular library hours and ongoing as inventory allows. Shop for a mix of items at unbeatable prices! Many books and media like new. Popular authors of adult, teen and children's books in fiction and nonfiction.
CARE Club Presents Covid-19 Storytime
Saturday, March 6 - 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m.

Join Hershey High School's CARE Club as they present COVID safety in a fun way for elementary-aged students. Come in your jammies, bring your breakfast, hang with some cool teens, and learn how to keep yourself safe and healthy and have some fun! Please register online.
Connect for Your Health: Evaluating Online Health Information
Saturday, March 6 - 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Presented on Zoom by Librarians from Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. This workshop will assist participants with evaluating health information they find online. It will teach them what questions to ask when evaluating an online source. This includes looking for signs of trustworthiness and signs of non-authoritative and potentially harmful information. Tuesday, March 9 - 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

MedlinePlus for Online Health Information will be presented by Librarians from Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. MedlinePlus is an authoritative source for health information produced by the National Library of Medicine. In this workshop, participants will learn what type of health information is available in MedlinePlus, and how to navigate it to find the information that they need. This program is made possible by a grant from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. Hershey Area All Things Diversity Presents: Supporting Transgender and Gender Diverse Youth
Join the next free educational event presented by Hershey Area All Things Diversity on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Register online for the virtual event, “Supporting Transgender and Gender Diverse Youth.”
The speaker, Amy Keisling, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. She will explore assumptions and reactions to gender identity, gender expression, and sexual identity; help viewers to understand the broad spectrum of gender-diversity and accepted best practices in gender-affirming care; and talk about the two most important actions that can affirm gender-diverse people, regardless of your relationship to them. Ms. Keisling will also share information about the Gender Health Clinic at Penn State Health.
This program will be a virtual event livestreamed on the Derry Township YouTube channel.

Hershey Area All Things Diversity is a free series of programs to create awareness and promote acceptance and inclusion in our community. It is coordinated by Derry Township, The Hershey Story Museum, Derry Township School District, Milton Hershey School, The Hershey Company, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, and Hershey Trust Company.
Share the Keys
Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center will host NJM Insurance Group’s virtual Share the Keys safe-driving orientation for students and parents at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23. The 45-minute, research-based, data-driven program is designed to reduce teen-driver crash risks through increased parental involvement. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is why the hospital’s trauma services team is offering the educational session.
