Derry Township Seeks Applications for Township Supervisor
Derry Township is seeking applications for Township Supervisor to fill the remaining term of former Supervisor Marc Moyer, who resigned last week due to a new job. The Township thanks Mr. Moyer for his 10 years of service on the board. Those interested in applying should send a letter and resume to Township Manager Chris Christman by February 3. Learn more. 
Township Solicitor Request for Proposals
The Township of Derry is currently accepting proposals for the position of a Township Solicitor. Proposals are due by January 31, 2020 by 3:00 p.m. Click here for additional information.
Hershey Volunteer Firefighters Awarded for Service
Saturday evening the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company held its annual awards banquet. It was truly a special evening for the recipients and their families.

The department would also like to thank PA State Representative Tom Mehaffie for presenting the department with an American Flag. We would also like to thank Senator John DiSanto and The Township of Derry Supervisors Moyer and Cort for their remarks and support of the Hershey Fire Department.

Friday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m.

Families with children ages 2-5, please register online to enjoy an hour of center-based free play that encourages children and their adults to engage in the five practice of Early Literacy: Talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing. Presented by Barb Clay. If you can't make this event, the next one is on Friday, February 7 at 10:00 a.m.
The Pennsylvania German Groundhog Lodges and Versammlinge
Sunday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. William Donner will explain the history, cultural context and significance of Pennsylvania German Groundhog Lodges and Versammlinge. William W. Donner is a professor of anthropology at Kutztown University. His book about the Pennsylvania German Groundhog Lodges – Serious Nonsense: Groundhog Lodges, Versammlinge and Pennsylvania German Heritage will be available for sale and signing. Community Blood Drive
Monday, January 27 from 3:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m.

Please come to the Hershey Public Library to contribute a pint of blood to the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank on Monday, January 27, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The bloodmobile will be in the library’s parking lot. No appointment is necessary. Please bring a form of ID with you. Donors must have eaten within a four-hour period prior to donating! If you are unable to attend the blood drive on this day, you may donate at a place and time more convenient to you: When you give the library’s account # 1072, we will be able to get credit for your donation. Thank you!
Art in Science
Wednesday, January 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Join students from Hershey High School's Chem-Med Club as they lead school-age children in grades 2-5 through fun science activities. January's theme is Environmental Science! Make a water bottle terrarium and learn how to dance like a bee! IMPORTANT: All participants must sign a safety form and bring with you to the program. Princess Skate & Tea Party
The Hershey Figure Skating Club is offering a Family Friendly Valentine's Day Celebration! Join HFSC for ice skating at the Giant Center followed by dinner at The Manor Restaurant & Lounge on Friday, February 14! $50 per adult, $20 per child (age 12 & under) includes ice skating, skating lessons, skate rental, Giant Center parking, and 7:30 p.m. dinner reservations!

Hershey Rotary Invites Public to New Alternate Wednesday Night Meeting
Current and prospective members are invited to attend the Hershey Rotary Club’s new Wednesday evening meetings, starting February 5, 2020 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Cocoa Beanery at 1215 Research Boulevard, Hummelstown.

The meeting is free to attend and food and beverages are available for purchase. No advance registration is required.

Hershey Rotary Club meets every Monday at noon but in order to give members and prospective members an alternative meeting time, the Club will add this new evening meeting option. 

The Hershey Rotary Club has more than 125 members and is active around the world and in the community supporting non-profits through service and donations, helping the community’s youth through leadership programs, scholarships, monthly high school student recognition, and by sponsoring the Hershey Community Youth Alliance, a civic club bringing together Hershey High School and Milton Hershey School students.
