Shred-It Event
A paper shredding event will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Public Works Facility.

This beer does more than taste great. For every pint sold, Iron Hill will donate $1 to support the local law enforcement initiative to provide a tourniquet for every officer on the force.

Rain Barrel Workshop Provides a Free Rain Barrel
Rain barrels collect roof runoff and store the water for future use providing many environmental benefits. Rain barrels are inexpensive to install and maintain.
 
Dauphin County Conservation District in partnership with Derry Township Municipal Authority is hosting a rain barrel workshop. The workshop will be held at the Derry Township Municipal Authority (DTMA), located at 670 Clearwater Road, Hershey, on Wednesday, October 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The workshop is open to all who are interested in installing a rain barrel, but will be limited to the first 50 who register. There is no cost to attend the workshop. Workshop participants will receive a FREE RAIN BARREL (Limit one rain barrel per household).

My Friendship with Fred Rogers
Sunday, September 22

Please register online at the Events Calendar, or call the Hershey Public Library at 717-533-6555 for this Friends Adult Program. Texas journalist, Tim Madigan gives an account of an unlikely friendship, and a deep and abiding relationship with Fred Rogers that lasted until Rogers’ death in 2003. Madigan’s book, "I’m Proud of You" reveals Fred Rogers as a person who deserves a place among history’s greatest people. It chronicles male friendship at its finest and most powerful. Books will be sold and signed at the event.
Girls Who Code
Tuesday, September 24
6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Girls in grades 6-12 use computer science to impact their community and join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models. The program is designed for students with a wide range of computer science experience. Activities are available for girls with ZERO computer science experience all the way up to activities that introduce college-level concepts. The broad set of soft and hard skills taught are: Teamwork, confidence, time management, communication, functions, variables, conditional, and loops. Presented by Lin Taylor.

Historical Society's 7th annual Preservation Tour
The Hershey Derry Township Historical Society is hosting their 7th annual Preservation Tour on Sunday, October 6th.

The tour this year will feature the history of the township before Mr. Hershey left his mark here. Places like the Union Canal, the many quarry operations, old churches, early communities and businesses, and more will be featured as the Trolley transports us to the areas where these things took place.  

New this year, the museum will host an event-long Open House throughout the day. In addition to refreshments and an opportunity to see our new barnyard makeover, those taking the tour will be able to see additional displays about the points on the tour. 

Included in those displays will be a special selection of items on loan from the Hershey Story of items from Mr. Hershey's Early American collection once housed in the Indian Museum, an early Township home that now accommodates the American Legion.

Hershey Symphony Presents "Cirque de la Symphonie" September 21, 2019
The Hershey Symphony Orchestra presents, "Cirque de la Symphonie", on Saturday, Sept 21 at 2pm and 8pm at the Hershey Theatre. An elegant fusion of cirque and symphony orchestra, adapting the stunning performances of cirque artists with the majesty of YOUR 70-piece Hershey Symphony Orchestra. The program showcases many of the best cirque artists in the world, thrilling the audience with aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers, and strongmen. You will be mesmerized by aerialists, performing acrobatics on silk fabrics, flying over your head. Adults and children will be amazed at the wizardry of the juggling feats, magic acts and the strength and flexibility of the strongmen and contortionists! The program includes thrilling music from the stage and screen including  Star Wars, Harry Potter, Mission Impossible, Superman, Carousel, Chicago , and much more.
