Renovations Coming to Hershey Library
|

Paving will occur within the next two weeks on Laurel Ridge, Edge Hill and Hill Manor. As always, roadwork is weather permitting.
Sand Hill Road paving is scheduled for Sept 11, 12, and 13.

Waste Management will be picking up trash earlier in the day on Thursday, Septermber 12 due to scheduled paving. Residents should put their trash out the night before (Wednesday), so it isn’t missed and paving doesn’t interfere with trash collection.

Downtown Hershey Association Meeting
|
The Downtown Hershey Association Board of Directors will meet on Monday, September 9, at 5:30 p.m. on the lower level of The Hershey Story. The public is invited and encouraged to attend to learn more about what’s happening downtown.

Rain Barrel Workshop Provides a Free Rain Barrel
|
Rain barrels collect roof runoff and store the water for future use providing many environmental benefits. Rain barrels are inexpensive to install and maintain.
Dauphin County Conservation District in partnership with Derry Township Municipal Authority is hosting a rain barrel workshop. The workshop will be held at the Derry Township Municipal Authority (DTMA), located at 670 Clearwater Road, Hershey, on Wednesday, October 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The workshop is open to all who are interested in installing a rain barrel, but will be limited to the first 50 who register. There is no cost to attend the workshop. Workshop participants will receive a FREE RAIN BARREL (Limit one rain barrel per household).

Hospital Ship USNS COMFORT (T-AH 20) - Missions of Hope and Healing

register online or call the Hershey Public Library at 717-533-6555 to register for this Friends Adult Program. LCDR (ret) Donna Haase, NC, USN will present information about the USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), what it is equipped with, its capabilities, and deployment history. Learn about how hospital ships reach out to foreign countries to provide humanitarian aid and disaster relief.

Video games, tabletop games, and art supplies all available to middle schoolers. For grades 6-8 only. No registration is needed. Just come at your convenience between to meet friends and make some new ones!

High school teens - come in on your own time to enjoy PlayStation games (including online games like Overwatch and Fortnite), tabletop games such as Munchkin and 5-Minute Dungeon, or utilize our art supplies to create something. No registration is needed.

Derry Township Community Cats to Hold Spay/Neuter Clinics
|
Derry Township residents can sign up to get help with trapping outdoor free-roaming cats and having them spayed/neutered and vaccinated for free through Derry Township Community Cats. The next two clinics are on September 10 and October 8. Reservations can be made by calling 717-592-8087.
Residents can also schedule a low-cost spay or neuter and vaccinations for owned cats by calling the same number. Visit

Hershey Camera Club Hosts Rich Nickel
|
On September 12, 2019 at 6:30 p.m., Mr. Rich Nickel will give a presentation titled "Down Under and Down Deep."
The entertaining and informative world traveler will present a photographic travelogue detailing his recent trip to Western Australia and New Zealand. Some of the highlights include exploring the natural flora, observing birds and animals indigenous to the area, and swimming with sharks. The program will be held at Country Meadows Retirement Communities, 451 Sandhill Road, in the Rose Room, Hershey PA. The public is always welcome.

Hershey Symphony Presents "Cirque de la Symphonie" September 21, 2019

The Hershey Symphony Orchestra presents, "Cirque de la Symphonie", on Saturday, Sept 21 at 2pm and 8pm at the Hershey Theatre. An elegant fusion of cirque and symphony orchestra, adapting the stunning performances of cirque artists with the majesty of YOUR 70-piece Hershey Symphony Orchestra. The program showcases many of the best cirque artists in the world, thrilling the audience with aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers, and strongmen. You will be mesmerized by aerialists, performing acrobatics on silk fabrics, flying over your head. Adults and children will be amazed at the wizardry of the juggling feats, magic acts and the strength and flexibility of the strongmen and contortionists! The program includes thrilling music from the stage and screen including
Star Wars, Harry Potter, Mission Impossible, Superman, Carousel, Chicago
, and much more. Saturday, Sept 21 at both 2pm and 8pm at the beautiful and historic Hershey Theatre.
