This Tuesday - Mexico Habitat Build

Scheduled with us this week is Herb Claggett, a retired Palm Springs High School teacher and coach, who recently participated in a Habitat for Humanity Global Village build in Tlaxcala, Mexico. Our Palm Desert Rotary Foundation helped sponsor Herb's recent trip and he also participated in a Global Village project in Guatemala in 2019. Herb and his wife Margaret, a former member of Palm Desert Palms to Pines Rotary, have made the Coachella Valley their home since 1986. When he's not helping out with Habitat, Herb volunteers at Galilee Center in Mecca.

Election This Week

This week, we'll be voting to elect our Palm Desert Rotary President for 2027-2028. As of last Tuesday, we had one candidate and he will lay out his vision for our club before the vote on Tuesday. Interested in joining our club's leadership? You'll have another chance when we vote for our President-Elect Nominee Designate who will lead our club in 2028-2029. That election will be held in January.

December 16 - Holiday Party

Support Your Favorite School!

Box Tops for Education is an easy way to support a school. Our Rotary Club supports Abraham Lincoln Elementary in Palm Desert, but if you download the Box Top for Education App, you can register for the school you want to support. After you shop, you scan your grocery receipt on the app on your phone. If you purchased any eligible products, the school will receive $ 0.10 per Box Top. It adds up quicker than you think!

If you would like, Maryalice is willing to scan your receipts to give Lincoln credit. Receipts must be scanned within two weeks of the purchase so bring them to a meeting within a week.

Everyday items include cereals, snacks, and beverages from various brands like General Mills, Annie's, Betty Crocker, and Nature Valley.

To get the app and a complete list of participating produces, click here.

Another way to fundraise! Raffle tickets for the Tour de Palm Springs are now available from Maryalice. !00% of the tickets sales comes back to our club! So buy some and sell some.
