DFW RECAP

April 24 - 25, 2024 | Collin College - Technical Campus | Allen, TX

We are so grateful for the success of the DFW Design Build Competition®!

17 teams and 217 high school students participated

in the competition at Collin College - Technical Campus in Allen, Texas.


They worked for 14+ hours in two days to build structures that

will be donated, sold, and used within their communities.

Design Build Competition® People's Choice Award!

COMPETITION WINNERS

The Craftsmanship Award was won by Pine Tree High School, which had the highest combined Construction Evaluation and Building Code Compliance scores.

Price Career South Institute (Dallas ISD) was awarded

the Team Safety Award for best overall points for safety judging.

Christian Trevino, of Newman Academy International was awarded

 Construction Manager of the Year.


This award was introduced last year and recognizes individuals who meet deadlines, exemplify leadership skills, and garner the greatest points for their video submissions.

Berit Hibbs, of Ann Richards High 

School - Team 2, was awarded Safety Person of the Year.


This award goes to one individual who has assumed the role of the Designated Safety Person for their team. Selected by a judging panel of safety professionals, this award goes to an individual who exhibits a keen understanding of worksite safety, appropriate safety regulation, and documentation and ensures that their local worksite is being operated safely.

Lake Worth High School was awarded the Architectural Award for the

Open Competition.

Newman Smith High School was awarded the Architectural Award for the

Shed Competition.

The Honorable Mention Award went to Grand Prairie High School.

Ennis High School

won the Best in Show for the

Open Competition.

Ann Richards High School - Team 1

won the Best of Show for the

Shed Competition.
