NORTHERN CALIFORNIA RECAP

May 1st & 2nd, 2024 l Consumnes River College - Sacramento, CA

We are so grateful for the success of the

39th Annual Northern California Design Build Competition!


42 Teams and 615+ high school students participated

in the competition at Consumnes River College in Sacramento, CA.


They worked for 14+ hours to build structures that will be donated

to their communities or used in their schools.

People's Choice Award Winner


2,000+ votes were cast for this year's Northern California Design Build Competition

People's Choice Award! Check out the winner below.

COMPETITION WINNERS

The Craftmanship Award was won by River City High School,

which has the highest combined Construction Evaluation

and Building Code Compliance scores.

Buhach Colony High School was awarded the Team Safety Award

for best overall points for safety judging.

The Wayne Johnson Safety Person of the Year Award was presented to Emma Peterson from Amador HS, who demonstrated a thorough understanding of worksite safety,

appropriate safety, regulations, and documentation.

The Construction Manager of the Year Award was presented to William Maestas from

Laguna Creek HS. This award recognized individuals who meet deadlines, exemplify leadership skills, and garner the greatest points for their video submission.

Galt High School was awarded the Architectural Award for the

Open Competition.

Sheldon High School was awarded the Architectural Award for the

Shed Competition.

The Honorable Mention Award went to Wheatland High School.

The Rookie Team Award went to Aptos High School.

Kern ROC High School

won the Best of Show for the

Open Competition.

Sutter Union High School

won the Best of Show for the

Shed Competition.
