DESIGN BUILD COMPETITION

NORTH TEXAS RECAP

April 19-20, 2023 | Collin College- Technical Campus, Allen, TX

We are so grateful for the success of the North Texas Design Build Competition!

Seven teams and 80 high school students participated

in the competition at Collin College in Allen, TX.

They worked for 14+ hours in two days with rain and wind to

build structures that will be donated to their communities.

People's Choice Award Winner

1,841 votes were cast for this year's North Texas Design Build Competition People's Choice Award! Check out the winner below.

The Craftsmanship Award was won by Newman Smith High School, which had the highest combined Construction Evaluation and Building Code Compliance scores.

Waxahachie High School-Team 1 was awarded the Team Safety Award

for best overall points for safety judging

The Safety Person of the Year Award was presented to Gabriela Flores from Medina Valley High School, who demonstrated a thorough understanding of worksite safety,

appropriate safety regulations, and documentation.

For the first time the Construction Manager of the year award was introduced, it was awarded to Johnny Gamon from Ennis High School.

This award recognizes individuals who meet deadlines, exemplify leadership skills and garner the greatest points for their video submission.

Ferris High School was awarded the Architectural Award for the

Open Competition

Waxahachie High School- Team 2

 won the

Architectural Award for the

Shed Competition.

The Honorable Mention Award went to TECC-West.

Medina Valley High School

won the Best of Show for the

Open Competition.

Ennis High School

won the Best of Show for the

Shed Competition.
