NORTHERN CALIFORNIA RECAP

May 3rd & 4th, 2023 | Cosumnes River College - Sacramento, CA

We are so grateful for the success of the

38th Annual Northern California Design Build Competition!


40 Teams and 555+ high school students participated

in the competition at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, CA.


They worked for 14+ hours to build structures that will be donated

to their communities or used in their schools.

People's Choice Award Winner


2,000+ votes were cast for this year's Northern California Design Build Competition People's Choice Award! Check out the winner below.

COMPETITION WINNERS

The Craftsmanship Award was won by Sutter Union, which had the highest combined Construction Evaluation and Building Code Compliance scores.

Antioch High School was awarded the Team Safety Award

for best overall points for safety judging

The Wayne Johnson Safety Person of the Year Award was presented to Malakai from Carden School - YCOE, who demonstrated a thorough understanding of worksite safety, appropriate safety regulations, and documentation.



For the first time the Construction Manager of the year award was introduced, it was awarded to Luke from Antioch High School. This award recognizes individuals who meet deadlines, exemplify leadership skills and garner the greatest points for their video submission.

Folsom High School was awarded the Architectural Award for the

Open Competition

Yuba City High School

 won the

Architectural Award for the

Shed Competition.

The Honorable Mention Award went to River City High School.

The Rookie Team of the Year was awarded to Center High School.

Carden School - YCOE

won the Best of Show for the

Open Competition.

Lincoln High School

won the Best of Show for the

Shed Competition.
