Dear Julie Ann,,
If there’s one thing we can always count on, it’s that life brings change. Some changes arrive gently, while others feel like a sudden storm — shifting the ground beneath us before we’re ready. Whether we welcome them or resist them, change is always part of our journey.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately as I work on a bathroom renovation that’s all about accessibility. It’s a reminder that our homes, just like our lives, need to evolve with us. Adapting a space to meet someone’s changing needs isn’t just practical — it’s a profound act of love, care, and acceptance. It says: You matter. Your comfort matters. You belong here.
It’s also a beautiful metaphor. Sometimes we resist making changes — to our homes, routines, or relationships — because they feel overwhelming or we fear what we might lose.
But in my own life, I’ve discovered that some of the greatest blessings have come from the very changes I was most hesitant to make. Hidden gifts, greater clarity, and unexpected peace have all come from moments when I finally surrendered and went with the flow.
Change can be challenging, but it also holds the potential for deep transformation and beauty. Whether it’s reimagining a room in your home, adjusting to a new season of life, or simply letting go of what no longer serves you — may you find strength in the surrender and trust in the process.
With warmth and intention,
Julie Ann
