"What you have in your home creates your story.
I want you to surround yourself with what you love - to be able to express yourself and live in comfort."

I'm just getting back into the swing of things after enjoying some time away in Laguna Beach.
While there, I visited the
Sawdust Art Festival. It's such an enchanting environment and fun experience; I highly recommend it if you're ever there during the summer months. The way it's set up with nature surrounding it, the great art...I even brought some back to show clients.
Surrounding yourself with nature, and working nature into the design elements of your space is a powerful way to restore your wellbeing. Below, I've got an article about applying
Biophilic Design principles to create "feel good" spaces.
Also below I've got my design advice in answer to a common question, "Is it ok to mix metals?" See what I have to say about
mixing metals

BIOPHILIC DESIGN
Interior Design by Nature
What does it mean to create spaces that not only
look good, but feel good?
Imagine walking into a room and taking in the sight and scent of lush, fragrant herbs and vivid flower blossoms; hearing the happy melody of song birds; feeling the warmth of a crackling fire; or being soothed by flowing water...
One design concept I use to create "feel good" spaces is Biophilic Design. Based on the research and findings of
Biologist Edward Wilson, Biophilic Design connects people to nature in their interiors, which has a positive impact on their health and wellbeing.

DESIGN TIP
Mix Metals - Don't Be Afraid!
As an Interior Designer, I'm commonly asked,
"Is it ok to mix metals?"
And my answer is,
"Of course! As long as they're balanced in the room."
Some people think that is an interior design no-no, or a that there's a rule against it. Or, they're just not sure how to do it.
My advice is to not be afraid to mix metals in the design of your space - it's all about the right application.
In the photo above, you can see that we have mixed chrome, brushed nickel, copper and gold metal in this
Party Room. We paid careful attention to where we placed each metal selection - for the furniture accents, light fixtures, and wall art. It's also coordinated with the wall and carpet colors in a balanced way.
