It’s about impact, goodness, and making history.
Hearst Castle remains closed and we do not have a reopen date. The silver lining to this pause in visitors is that conservationists have the time and space to make significant progress on conservation projects. Thanks to the support of our donors, we are able to continue to support these vital efforts.

Social distancing has also provided us an opportunity to collaborate with Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument and State Park to expand our STEAM Program at the Castle to a new, virtual format where students receive a "STEAM kit" with activities that pair with the live, customized 3-day virtual experience.

Teachers in underserved communities across California are ecstatic about the chance to give their students an engaging "field trip" that aligns with in-class curriculum and inspires them to think about their lives in a bigger way. We're thrilled to sponsor the program in full. And your support means the world.

Starting the Treatment of the Morning Room Ceiling
As treatment of Hearst Castle’s elaborate and historic Morning Room ceiling enters its final phase, Board Secretary Evelyn Plemons recalls how it all began a decade ago.

The Mysterious Etruscan Chalice
In dissolving the resin and removing the paint, the conservator wondered what he had gotten himself into. What should have been an easy job became more complex and mysterious!

Please consider contributing to our mission
We appreciate that this is an incredibly challenging time for so many of us. But if you can give, you’ll be supporting the ongoing conservation of this historic landmark and helping us to provide innovative education programs to students in need. We've updated the webpage that describes ways to support us to make giving a little easier. Every bit helps.
"You can see the world by visiting Hearst Castle"
