New location for ASTEC High School Graduation
Recent heavy rains threw a curve-ball at ASTEC's administrative team this week, damaging First Presbyterian Church enough that the church had to cancel all events planned there for a few weeks.

That meant our fearless leader Dr. Freda Deskin was on the phone immediately securing a great new location for our graduation ceremony.

Commencement will now be held at Oklahoma City Community College's Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater, 7777 S May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. Click here for a map.   The times for the event will not change.

Maker Clubs wind to a close for summer
Not many middle school or high school students would openly admit during summer that they miss school, but this year, we're willing to be there will be quite a few scholars missing their Makers Clubs! As the clubs wound down last week for the year, many celebrated their experiences with end-of-the-year parties.

Ms. Clarissa Urbina's Creative Journaling Makers Club had a downright elegant tea party to toast their time together artfully journaling their school year among friends.

Makers Clubs were a big success this year, thanks to the dedication of Mr. Chase Alexander to his work coordinating the clubs and the teachers who volunteered their time and talent to head up their clubs.

ASTEC scholars take MetroTech honors
Several ASTEC students were honored with scholarship recently at the Metro Tech Foundation Recognition Awards.

The Foundation grants scholarships and other financial awards to students who have excelled at their CareerTech student organization and state competitions, participating at national events, and Aviation students excelling on FAA exams.

ASTEC scholars Lizette Becerra and madison Clayton each received the Site Director's Student of the Year High School Scholarship and Miguel Viezcas received the Meredyth Campbell Memorial Scholarship.

Scholarships are still available
Speaking of scholarships, it's not too late to apply for assistance for fall college classes.
Here are some resources from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation for three great local scholarships you still have time to apply for.

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation is home to many corporate scholarships that are still accepting applications. We've highlighted a few of them below! Make sure and check their  website  to see all remaining scholarship opportunities.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action).

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
