The Ontario Government has introduced the 2022 Ontario Staycation Tax Credit to encourage families from across Ontario to explore the province and help revitalize the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Claiming the tax credit is easy! For leisure stays under one month, the credit can be claimed for accommodation expenses which cover hotels, motels, resorts, lodges, bed and breakfasts, cottages, and campgrounds for up to $1,000 (individual) or $2,000 (family).

As many in the community know, the beloved Hernder Estates Winery was affected by a fire that devastated their property. Fortunately, there were no injuries but the local favourite was set up with vendors and artisans for The Mom Market over the weekend. Many local business owners lost their handmade inventory and the community has rallied to help pitch in to support Hernder Estate Wines and all of the crafters impacted by the fire.

A GoFundMe campaign has been created with a goal of raising $50,000 to reimburse some of the crafters.

On April 10, BMRKT and Black Owned 905 present the Spring Ting BIPOC Market. Shop from local artisans and vendors, enjoy great music, and pick up some delicious food. This event has free admission.
