Santa is coming to Novi to Light Up the Night
Evening includes tree lighting, fireworks, entertainment & more 
Kick off the holiday season in Novi at the annual Light Up the Night community event from 6-9pm on Friday, Dec. 2 at the Novi Civic Center campus.

Mayor Bob Gatt and his friend from the North Pole will start the festivities by lighting the holiday tree at 6:15pm. A must-see fireworks show follows Santa's arrival. Please plan accordingly during the fireworks to ensure the safety of your pets.

The free community event also includes a craft show, kids' activities and games, hayrides, s'mores, petting farm, ice sculptures, reindeer, live entertainment from Mexico Lindo Ballet Folklorico, Family Self Defense Martial Arts and Novi Middle School orchestra, and free food samples from local restaurants.

Families can also catch a shuttle to the Novi Public Library where they can enjoy shows by John the Magician at 7 & 8pm and Dan Dan the Choo Choo Man miniature train rides from 6:30-9pm.

Sing along with the Novi Choralaires
Community chorus to perform shows on December 4 & 11
Make the  Novi Choralaires part of your holiday plans this December! 

The 41-year-old community chorus, made up of men and women from Novi and the surrounding communities, will once again host a pair of holiday concerts that appeal to music lovers of all ages.

Th is year's theme is "Songs of Food and Fesitivies," featuring music that includes familiar favorites everyone will recognize. The group will perform at 4pm on Dec. 4 at Church of the Holy Family and at 4pm on Dec. 11 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills. Tickets are $12 for adults or $10 for seniors and children under 12.

Enjoy pancakes and crafts with Santa
Only a few tickets remain for December 10 event
Help Santa fuel up before the big day by joining him for breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Novi Civic Center. 

Santa sure does love his pancakes and still needs to get lists from plenty of Novi kids! Breakfast is from 9-11am and the cost is $5 per person. Children under 2 are free.

Children also will create a craft in Santa's workshop and take it home as a keepsake.

Get a team together for softball in the snow
Chili Chilly Softball Showdown, 9am on Jan. 21 at Power Park
Grab your cleats and probably your winter hat and snow pants for the third annual Chili Chilly Softball Showdown at 9am on Saturday, January 21 at Power Park.

This co-ed tournament is played at a fast-pace (have to stay warm somehow) with one-pitch per at bat. All participants will receive prizes and lunch featuring koney dogs from Kerby's Koney Island.

The tournament is double elimination format with games lasting six innings. Players must be 18 or older. The Novi Civic Center also will be open for teams to heat up, and wooden bats will be provided.
