As promised, we are writing to provide details of the process that we will use to identify the Academy’s next leader.
The Foundation will seek an Interim Head of School for the 2021 - 2022 school year to provide itself with the time to conduct a broad, national search for a permanent Head. The Interim Head will have the opportunity to be entertained as a candidate in our search for a permanent Head of School, which will begin this summer.
To help identify an interim Head of School for the Academy, the Foundation has employed the Gowan Group, a consultancy with deep experience in independent school strategy and leadership searches. The Foundation will also assemble a Search Committee who will collaborate with the consultants to carry out a transparent search process for the interim head of school. They will narrow the field of candidates and make a recommendation of the ideal candidate to Bill. It is our goal to announce the appointment of the Interim Head of School Elect in April. This will be an inclusive process in which every school constituency will be represented. We will soon identify the members of the Search Committee and invite you to participate in focus group conversations that will be conducted by the search consultants in late January and early February.
We and the Search Committee will continue to communicate with you by email. In addition, you will soon find all of these communications and additional information on our consultants and the Search Committee on a “Interim Head Search Process” page that will reside on the “About Us” tab on the Academy’s website.
This is an exciting time for the Academy and the Foundation. We look forward to working with everyone in the Miriam community as we move forward.
