The R3-50 3-axis anemometer is designed for scientific research and is used extensively for determining fluxes using the eddy covariance technique. This precision ultrasonic anemometer monitors wind speeds up to 45m/s, with a fast data output rate of 50Hz (100Hz model available). It offers U, V, W and SOS (sonic temperature) outputs and data can be logged using the supplied Gill WindCom software.

The robust R3-50 has lightweight aluminum/carbon fiber construction and operates effectively in environmental temperatures from -40°C to +60°C. Optional accessories are available including cables, sensor input units (analogue inputs) and power supplies.

For applications where a faster 100Hz data output rate is required the R3-100 is recommended.
