Partners in Innovation

Progress continues on the Springfield Innovation Center (SIC) on Bridge Street. 
Construction activity at the SIC is accelerating as we work toward an anticipated opening this coming spring. The SIC is also expanding. Thanks to a grant from the MassMutual Foundation we were able to acquire additional property at 284-286 Bridge Street. The property is the eastern most building of the five buildings that originally made up the historic Trinity Block. This addition to the project will allow DevelopSpringfield to ensure that the building is rehabilitated and operated in a manner consistent with our goals for the SIC and the overall Innovation/TDI District. The additional property will also help meet growing demand for space at the Innovation Center. 

Though work is still on-going, 284-286 Bridge is now fully leased. Tenants include a bio-tech startup and an IT start-up, both of whom are Valley Venture Mentors Alumni. Rehabilitation work at 284-286 Bridge was funded in part through a grant from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts (Eugene A. Dexter Charitable Fund administered by Bank of America, Trustee).
6th Celebrate Springfield Annual Dinner Event

Plans are underway for our 6th Celebrate Springfield Annual Dinner Event to be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the MassMutual Center. This annual celebration of our city helps to support the work of DevelopSpringfield and our initiatives toward revitalization and economic development.

Last year 600 business leaders and community members packed the house to enjoy mingling and music during our reception followed by a sit down dinner, brief program and awards presentations . We will soon be announcing our Partners in Progress h onorees!.

DevelopSpringfield's Annual Fall Open House Reception


We hosted our annual fall open house reception for our Partners and supporters in November. Many thanks to all who were able to join us and allow us to show off our new office space at 83 Maple Street.


A great group of business leaders met to network, learn about DevelopSpringfield projects and enjoy some refreshments before the holiday rush.
