We’re in the height of summer, which means weeds and vegetation can easily become overgrown and unsightly. The Town of Castle Rock’s Municipal Code, Title 8, Health and Safety, requires all properties — residential and commercial — to be kept free of weeds and vegetation overgrowth year-round.
Town Code requires that:
- Weeds and grass lawns may be no taller than 12 inches above the ground at all times during the year
- All noxious weeds — aggressive plants that are not native to our area and have been identified by the Department of Agriculture in the Colorado Noxious Weed Act — must be controlled
- Plants and trees must be trimmed so they don’t impair driver vision or obstruct travel on sidewalks or roadways
The Town sends reminder letters to property owners who are in violation of the Municipal Code. Failure to comply with the regulations could result in Code Enforcement action.
