The Development Services Department is honored to have received two prestigious awards from the American Planning Association (APA), Los Angeles which recognizes and celebrates the most outstanding planning work in the region and statewide.

The Department received awards for the Housing Element Update and for an individual City planner. These awards reflect our commitment to creating more livable, vibrant and equitable communities through effective planning efforts. Learn more about the awards below!

 
  • Outstanding Young Planner Award of Excellence, Maryanne Cronin: APA Los Angeles has named Maryanne Cronin the Outstanding Young Planner of the Year for her exemplary leadership and valuable contributions to the advancement of the planning profession. Maryanne has been a Planner in our Planning Bureau for more than five years where she focuses on the City’s most complex entitlement, coastal and historic planning projects and programs. During this time, she has secured approvals for large development projects and has facilitated or supported hundreds of California Environmental Quality Act documents for both City and private development projects.
