Memorial Day at Devon

Devon, Pennsylvania - May 26, 2025 - Memorial Day Monday at the 129th Devon Horse Show and Country Fair honored American heroes and traditions of old. From carriages to the cavalry, exhibitors and locals alike capped off the weekend of holiday celebration with a day at Devon.

A Tribute to Heroes

Memorial Day Monday at Devon is about honoring our heroes. With free general admission for all military personnel, first responders, and their families, troops took center stage. The evening session in the Dixon began with a Tribute to Heroes Ceremony. The Orpheus Club of Philadelphia serenaded the crowd with God Bless America and the National Anthem, while the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry hoisted the flag.

This year's WWII Honorees were Peter Iannotta & Ray Parker.

Amateur Jumper Championship

Gigi Phillips And Gieke de Cour au Bois top the NAL 1.15m Amateur Jumper Classic and the 1.10m/1.15m Amateur Jumper Championship

Drivers in the Dixon

Under the lights in the Dixon Oval, four-in-hand coaching took center stage, showcasing beautifully restored carriages, immaculately turned-out teams, and the nostalgic pageantry that brings history to life on the showgrounds.

Park Drag and Misdee Wrigley Miller, out of Paris, Kentucky, earned The Bailey Banks and Biddle Company Challenge Trophy.

Rounding out the evening in the Dixon were the single/pair pony divisions. Red Beans and Rice and Rita Michalenko claimed victory in the Single/Pair Pony – Pleasure Turnout, while Magic Stars Scarlett Royale and Michelle Michael topped the Single/Pair Pony – Scurry classes. Ultimately, it was Red Beans and Rice and Michalenko’s strong performance that earned them the Single/Pair Pony Driving Championship and the prestigious Joseph M. Pierce Memorial Challenge Trophy.

About The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair 

Started in 1896, The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed horse show in North America and draws in top competitors worldwide. With the grandeur of Philadelphia's historic Main Line as its backdrop, the show continues to reflect the local traditions and lifestyles of the community. Over 2,000 volunteers run the event, and there are various boutique shops in miniature cottages, amusement rides and games for kids, multiple dining options, and live entertainment.
