"That I may know him"
Phil 3:10
Paul wanted to know the savior and the power of his resurrection :
To be raised from the dead and the fellowship of his suffering, being crucified in him and made comfortable to his death.
Dead to what ?
V:13 To what is behind ~ forgetting what is behind.
because your past can raise it up to life again, and the past must stay dead.
We must know Christ and forget our past.
Knowing Jesus is knowing his truth, his promise, his mission.
Going after Christ with everything that is within you, and knowing that,
what ever comes your way,
it does not matter, that is the very thing that will get you to know, the Jesus that can -
Deliver, set free, guide, lead,
V:13 but one thing I do;
There was a determination to put the past in the past.
The enemy has a strong weapon and that is to throw your past in your face.
This will;
1. Paralyze you.
2. Stop you.
3. Stress you.
4. Cripple you.
All these things can get you to forget about God.
Paul refuses to be controlled or absorbed by his past.
V:8 I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my lord for whose sake I have lost all things.
V:13 straining towards what is ahead..
Means ~ press on, push forward.
Where ? Heavenward..towards the call and the vision God has given our ministry and you as a leader..
God is calling us to heaven ~ but before you go to heaven !! make a IMPACT on earth !! ..
V:15-16 (;€
