City of Iron Mountain GIS Map Tool Now Available

With the addition of the City of Iron Mountain rolling out GIS mapping access on the city's website this past week, the area is now well-represented with this important electronic resource. Online GIS mapping provides developers, residents, property owners and real estate agents with key data and information about property parcels and is accessible 24 hours a day. Visit cityofironmountain.com and click on GIS Maps in the left side bar to utilize the tool. Thank you to all the communities that have invested in providing this valuable service!
State Legislators Welcomed at 
Pine Mountain Ski Jumps

The Alliance Government Relations & Advocacy Task Force welcomed legislators at the Pine Mountain Ski Jumps on Saturday, February 9. A special thank you to Dave Kashian of First National Bank & Trust who hosted us at the bank's booth. Representaive Beau LaFave and Senator Ed McBroom stopped by to meet members of the Task Force, the leadership of the Alliance, and to hear updates on the progress of the Alliance. The Task Force plans to make this an annual event in conjunction with the Continental Cup Ski Tournament each year.
Downtown Apartments Debuted 

Recently, Brad and Lori Staedt of RR Downtown introduced six newly renovated and modern studio apartments located at 427 S. Stephenson Ave. in downtown Iron Mountain with an open house for the public. If you did not get a chance to stop by, the units are all unique and approximately 400 square feet with a separate sleeping area, 10' ceilings, air conditioning, full bath, in-building laundry, security and modern finishes. Two units are still available to rent at this time. Revised Job Board at Bay College West

If Bay West students are good candidates for any of your current or future job openings, you should provide job information for posting on the new and improved Job Board at Bay West. Bay staff is revising and updating the job bulletin board to better attract the interest of their students who are looking for work.  Now is the time to provide job descriptions and flyers for open positions to Kelly Larson, Student Enrollment Facilitator. Champion, Inc. recipient of LSCP Distinguished Service Award

Champion, Inc. is this year's business awardee for the Lake Superior Community Partnership Distinguished Service Award to be presented on February 20 at the LSCP Annual Dinner event in Marquette. Champion was selected because of their commitment to the region for nearly 100 years. Congratulations to the team at Champion, Inc.!

Lake Shore Systems receives OAUP award

Iron Mountain VA Wins National Best Patient Experience Award

The VA's Veterans Health Administration recognized Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain for providing its patients with outstanding healthcare experiences. The Iron Mountain-based VA Medical Center received the 2018 Best Experience Award for Level 3 (small, low complexity) facilities at the Veterans Patient Experience Symposium held February 5-7, 2019, in Washington, DC.

"This award would not be possible without the commitment of our staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and community healthcare partners," said Jim Rice, Medical Center Director. Congratulations to the entire VA Medical team!
