Did You Forget About Your COVID-19 Test?
Dear Assumption Students, Faculty and Staff,

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, thanks to a collective effort across campus, students continue to enjoy in-person classes and, for those living on campus, a residential experience. As Thanksgiving and the end of the semester approaches, we need your help to make it through these final weeks.

Key to mitigating and preventing the spread of COVID-19 on campus, and ensuring students may enjoy the in-person classes and campus life, is participation in the University’s testing protocol. Over 700 students did not get a COVID-19 test last week. Students who did not test last week must be tested by the end of the day tomorrow, Tuesday, November 16, or be subject to restricted access to campus and unexcused absences from class.

We understand it can be easy to forget about the test. If you need a text reminder on your testing day, please click the below button.
As a reminder, vaccinated individuals are tested twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and unvaccinated individuals three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Massachusetts, in particular Worcester County, continues to report new positive COVID-19 cases. Testing provides data that the University uses to limit the number of students placed in isolation or quarantine or to quickly identify emerging outbreaks of COVID-19. Our goal is to provide students with as normal and an enjoyable Assumption experience as possible, but we need your help by complying with the testing protocol.

EXPECTATION OF STUDENTS TO ATTEND CLASSES
Faculty have reported increased student requests for remote instruction accommodations. Please know that only those students who test positive for COVID-19 or, who after completing the symptom tracker, are instructed not to attend classes by Health Services, may be considered for a remote instruction accommodation. Students may not self-quarantine unless they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. If a student is not ill or experiencing symptoms, they are expected to be present in their classes.

A word of gratitude to all members of our community who continue to do their part to thwart the spread of COVID-19 on campus. We realize that this continues to be a challenging period for many, but know that the University is committed to providing students the memorable Assumption experience they deserve.

Sincerely,

Health Services
