Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!

Last week we asked you what was your favorite part of October. (More on those answers later) We chose a reader who responded at random to win a bag full of swag. And the winner is: Kenneth Parker! We will reach out to coordinate your swag bag.
Thank you all so much for answering. A little birdy told me the newsletter author's birthday is next week so make sure you open next week's newsletter for another chance to win!

Veterans of all eras will be eligible for caregiver benefits starting Oct. 1, an expansion that is expected to add thousands of families to the program in the next year.
The move was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 but had been delayed two years as officials refined processing and support for the program. Currently, only veterans who served before May 1975 or after September 2001 are eligible for the benefits.

Earlier this month, department officials released their annual report on veterans suicide, showing a decrease in deaths of nearly 10% from 2018 to 2020 (the latest year for which census data is available).

Dahmer: Monster — The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” premiered this week on Netflix. The eerie show centers on sadistic serial murderer Jeffrey Dahmer and details how his dark path was forged.
And while he was notorious for committing the heinous serial murders of 17 people between 1978 and 1991, a lesser known portion of his story includes a brief stint in the U.S. Army.

NCServes is the first state-wide network to coordinate care for Veterans and their families.
|
|
Every Veteran and every family is different.
Therefore their care must be tailored to meet their unique needs. The only way all of these needs can be met is through a networked approach.
Ask if the organization you are working with if they are a NCServes member.
