May Emerging Leader Highlight
Our lunch was kicked off with an energizing and inspiring presentation by Patrick Long, VP of Strategy and Engagement, about United Way's vision and mission for the Greater Chattanooga area.

We then had the pleasure of hearing from River City Company's exciting and dynamic president and CEO, Kim White.  Mrs. White presented on River City's involvement in the incredible growth and development in the downtown area over the past years and relayed some exciting additions coming soon to our downtown area.

Finally, Tyler Yount, Emerging Leaders Chair, wrapped the meeting by speaking to the strides and impact EL's are making across Chattanooga.
Emerging Leader of the Month

Katy Beth Barber

Special Events and Marketing Coordinator for United Way of Greater Chattanooga

How did you become involved with United Way Emerging Leaders?
I joined EL in January when I started with United Way!

What all organizations are you involved with around town?
Since moving back to Chattanooga in January, I am heavily involved with my Church, Calvary Chapel Chattanooga, and serve on their photography team, volunteer in children's ministry, and am the facilitator of two different small groups. I recently joined the Chattanooga Women's Leadership Network as well!

Interest outside of work?
I am a performer (actor/singer) at heart, and fell in love with musical theatre when I was 16. Since then, I have continued singing, acting, and dancing, but recently also fell in love with photography. I love meeting new people!

Additional highlights you would like for other to know?
I love to travel and actually spent 4 months studying abroad at Oxford University in England! I am a part of an artist development group in Atlanta where I spend my weekends singing, dancing, and acting! I also have my own photography business, KBarber Photography.  You can see my photography here! Find me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter!
