GOING DIGITAL!

The Chamber office is going to try and go more digital next year - meaning less bulk mail pieces and more emails regarding our happenings. You should receive a hard copy mail piece by the end of the week and an email was sent this morning detailing your opportunities for membership and sponsorship.

Please be sure that we have the correct representative from your company to receive these emails. Today's email was sent to whom we have listed as the Primary Rep and Billing Reps to your business. When it comes to events etc... we will email to all your reps you have on file. Don't feel shy - we can take as many people in your company wanting our information and this newsletter as you are willing to share, so let us know if there are more you would like communications to go to.

Don't know who is all listed as Reps for your company? Check into the Member Information Center (MIC) at https://business.buffalochamber.org/login. If you have troubles logging in contact Melissa for help at Melissa@buffaloChamber.org.

BREEZY LANE TRAVEL

Amanda Ryynanen, owner and Vacation Specialist of Breezy Lane Travel, was a Chamber member 5 years ago. She took some time off, a couple years back, from her travel planning to be home more with her growing family of 4 kids - rightly so!

She is now back in the saddle ready to help you find and travel to your favorite destination.

Do you remember what 5 years ago was? Here was her write up then...yep the pandemic

Nothing like opening a travel business in the midst of a pandemic, but owner Amanda Ryynanen, didn't let that stop her! As the unofficial travel planner for her family for years, she chose this year to make her passion her work and enlisted with Dream Vacations franchise. With Dream Vacations she can provide the best of both worlds: Promotions and deals that match large online travel agencies, but with a personal touch!

Glad to have her back and glad travel has rebounded well! If you are looking to go somewhere, give Amanda a call.

I am one that prefers to use travel agents vs spending hours and hours online. They have access to it all and can combine hotels, rental cars and airfare in one nice package!

AMBASSADORS ON THE MOVE

DEER LAKE ORCHARD

1903 10th St SW

https://www.facebook.com/people/Deer-Lake-Orchard/100064596193500/

There is no better time to have the Chamber Ambassadors visit an orchard then in the heart of the season!

Owners, Yuri and Jill Preugschas, spend 9 to 10 months preparing for these 2 months of frenzied fun with apples and pumpkins galore! They have been running Deer Lake Orchard for 15 years, enjoying raising their family there.

Yuri said the growing season was good this year - with nice consistent rain. The 30 different varieties of apples are ready for you to pick, or you can grab a prepacked bag as well. The biggest sellers are the Honeycrisp and Sweet Tangos, both developed by the

U of M. They actually have to pay royalty back to the University to use the Sweet Tango name. You will also find the popular Fireside and First Kiss.

The life of an apple tree is 25 to 30 years, and it takes 3 to 5 years to produce apples well, so the orchard is busy year-round behind the scenes with the 15 acres of apple trees on the 130-acre property.

What else is there besides apples and pumpkins you ask?

  • Animal Train
  • Jumping Pad
  • Corn Maze
  • Apple Cannon
  • Farm Animals
  • Wagon Ride
  • Food Trucks and pulled pork and nachos out of their own kitchen
  • Live Music
  • Cider Slushies
  • Retail Store filled with apple pies, apple cider, apple crisps, decor and more

Did you know they can hold events there for up to 275 people? In fact, the class of 1985 will be celebrating there this weekend! They also will have not so haunted hayrides the last couple weeks of the month and are hosting a Christmas Market the first weekend of December too!

With this warm weather - you can spend the day at the orchard with the kids! Get out there and enjoy the best of fall in MN right here in our backyard and maybe take home a treat or two!

Below are Ambassadors Cynthia/Old National, Jen/American Family, Yuri, April/Family Counseling Center, Cheree/CRS and his staff all ready to bag some apples!

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR....

You will be hearing from Katie, Heidi, Sarah or Charmain from Prime Advertising as we look to create our Chamber Directory/Community Resource Guide for 2026! We print over 17,000 of these and they are mailed to all homes and businesses in the Buffalo, Hanover, Montrose, and Rockford area as well as mailed to new homeowners throughout the year and left with real estate offices, the school district, office waiting rooms and more!

As a Chamber member you can promote your business by placing an ad (at a discounted rate) and your business is listed by category and alphabetically in the back free of charge. You can upgrade that listing with your logo.

On a side note - since we write the content and all the photos are real (not canned images in our Directory), if you have any photos of you doing life in Buffalo - send them my way!

MEMBER HAPPENINGS

BESIDES CONSTRUCTION DOWNTOWN NEXT YEAR, MnDOT IS ALSO DOING CONSTRUCTION ON HWY 55 TO MONTICELLO!

Be sure if you are a business effected or just want to know more about the project that you attend one of the open house meetings next week. This will be a hassle factor for many months I presume, as will the project downtown. We will have to be intentional about giving business to our local businesses during this time! Necessary to do, hard to deal with while happening and great improvement once done!
