Paint a gift in the MakerSpace while supplies last. Make an appointment or come in during the Open Make times. Thanks to some donations we have wooden items that can be decorated for a gift made with love.

Did You Catch It?

Have you seen AI Art? Sometimes it makes weird mistakes, but as the technology has been learning it is getting better and better. Last month the candle flyer utilized Canva's AI tool to put a candle in an empty candle container. If you look closely you will notice it doesn't look quite right. The candle isn't filled in completely.

AI in art is quite controversial when it comes to how it is trained and how it is used. It's a new technology that will need some guidelines and users to use it responsibly. Artists' art is often being used to train AI without permission. This change in technology can change the way we think about art and what it means to be an artist. It can be a great tool as well as detrimental as many new technologies have been in the past.

To learn more about AI Art see the first video below. Listen to what human artists have to say about AI in the second video.
