In the news: Our Precious Time Dogs is a lifeline for at-risk dogs

The word is out! Watch this news story on our new program, Precious Time Dogs (PTD) — in conjunction with the Santa Cruz County Animal Control (SCCAC) in Nogales, Arizona. PTD rescues dogs at risk of euthanasia due to space constraints at the Santa Cruz shelter.

We are grateful to KGUN9, Tucson's ABC affiliate, for covering our new program with this story.

Rescue groups helping other rescue groups is a beautiful thing!

HOPE received a request to help a stray puppy who was bitten by a snake and was in a rural Arizona shelter with limited access to vet care. The shelter reached out to rescue groups. Stefanie Seitz of Pathways for Paws and Cheryl Christensen of Desert Cat Rescue & Sanctuary Arizona jumped into action and asked for volunteers to do an immediate transport. Debi Davison Murray volunteered to pull and transport the puppy to Benarda Veterinary Hospital, where its wonderful staff immediately started medical care.

This is a beautiful example of rescues working together to save animals in need. A BIG THANK YOU to all involved. The little pup has been named Danny and he is now in foster care. He will be available for adoption once he is medically cleared. HOPE is covering all his medical care, which has been quite expensive, so we would appreciate any and all donations toward these expenses.

Hello! I am MJ, short for Maryjane.

I am a young and beautiful dilute calico who is looking for a forever home. In fact, I was found because I climbed into the car of one of our HOPE volunteers. I had no ID and no owner was found, so I am now living at HOPE. I love to meet people, do well with other cats, and love human attention. People always say how pretty I am, but my main focus is on finding a permanent home.

I am a very sweet older boy with a gentle soul, and I would love to meet you.

I may be a senior but I have the energy of a pup! I love to play and run around the yard with my dog friends. I do well on a leash and I love to take walks. If you take me on a walk, you will see how much I love to be outside to sniff around. Also, check out my great smile!

I am a shepherd mix, and I would love a forever home of my own. Come meet me, and I will smile just for you!

Anyone have a mobile home? We need one for our sickest animals.

We are searching for a mobile home as the previously donated one has fallen into disrepair and can no longer be used.

Many animals’ lives have been saved due to this separate space — dogs and cats who needed to be isolated through no fault of their own. Many were sick and needed to be kept separate from the other animals to prevent spreading germs. Some were too afraid to be with other animals.

We are searching for a replacement — a mobile home that will help us continue to save these special-needs animals. If you don’t have a mobile home, perhaps you could donate to our fund to purchase one.
