Hi Calvary,
Over the next three months, our Sunday messages will take us on a journey through Paul’s Letter to the Romans, a letter widely considered the most important and influential of all the NT documents. Here are just a few quotes expressing high praise for Paul’s Letter to the Romans.
Martin Luther: “This epistle is really the chief part of the New Testament, and is truly the purest gospel.
John Calvin: “When anyone understands this Epistle, he has a passage opened to him to the understanding of the whole Scripture.”
William Tyndale: “The principal and most excellent part of the New Testament.”
John Stott: “It is the fullest, plainest, and grandest statement of the gospel in the NT.”
The title I have given to this series of messages ought to be familiar because it is the same as our church mission statement. Our mission is to “Learn, live, and Share the Good News of Jesus.” There is no better NT document to turn to than Romans to learn what this good news is, how this good news transforms the way we live, and why this good news ought to foster a sense of urgency to share it.
My messages are designed to give you the big picture of the content in Romans. We have created and posted a reading plan to our website on our SOAP page. We will post SOAP meditations to the SOAP blog on our website to help you gain a deeper understanding of the entire letter.
I believe God will use this series to build our faith in Him, our love for Him, and our unity in Him. Please pray that through these messages, the Holy Spirit will bring people to faith in the gospel so that they may experience the saving power of God.
Last Sunday, I concluded our series of messages from Proverbs by focusing on the wisdom Proverbs contains about the importance of marriage and family. You will want to watch and listen HERE if you missed that message.
