Serve Dinner at Samaritan House 

Sunday, August 7 at 5 pm

Samaritan House is a home for AIDS victims and homeless individuals in Ft. Worth. Dido serves a dinner there quarterly. We need volunteers to help serve on August 7th! Please contact Sharon Chang if you can help! 817 637-4045

Help Put Together School Supplies TONIGHT Aug 4 &

Get them to Kids THIS SATURDAY Aug 6

Area churches have been asked to supply 1000 backpacks filled with supplies for EMSISD students who cannot afford to buy their own supplies for the 2022-2023 school year. Dido has raised enough funds for purchasing pencil boxes and notebook paper to donate to the project.  You are NEEDED to attend the following events:

• August 4, 6-8 pm at the Hollenstein Career and Technology Center (HCTC) at 5501 Marine Creek Pkwy in Saginaw - Help put the back packs together with all the supplies 
• August 6, 8-11:30 am at HCTC - Help pass out the backpacks to the children

Our Newest Adult Sunday School Class Will Begin a Study on the Book of Acts

August 14th

All are invited!

Every Sunday - 9:15 -10:15 - In the Fellowship Hall

The study will be be facilitated by Pastor Jana. Please bring your Bibles and your questions!

It's Time to Prepare for Dido's Annual Golf Tournament to be held on October 1

Scramble at 8 am

Every year Dido UMC has a golf tournament in order to raise money for missions and help out our community. Here's how you can serve! --

• Gather items for silent auction gift baskets. Ask local restaurants, stores, or service providers for gift certificates or donations or donate some funds to help
• Purchase a sign to be placed at a hole for your family or business for $100. - call Marianne Wiggins at 817 939-3422
• Put together silent auction gift baskets - call Lisa Mellott at 817 909-3422
• Sign up yourself or your team to play golf! - Call The Resort at 817 236-4300
• Be a Birdie Sponsor for $500 and receive advertising and 4 players in the tournament. - Call Marianne Wiggins at 817 939-3422
• Help assemble Goodie Bags - Call Marianne Wiggins at 817 939-3422
• Make desserts! - Call Arlene Pearcy at 817 874-6717
• Help set up/take down on the day before and the day of.
• On the day of the tournament we will need many servants! Please let Tim Daughtrey (817 988-1420) know if you can help!

Thank You Karen Burgess!

For 11 years Karen did the bookkeeping for Dido. She picked up the mail. She shopped for supplies. She did so many other things too. She tirelessly served our church. Karen retired from doing these things on August 1st. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Karen for your service to God and to Dido!!

Donate Your Bibles!

We're collecting soft cover Bibles for inmates to be able to read. Donations can be placed in the box near the sanctuary entrance.

Chris has cleaned, decorated, and done so much to make Dido UMC beautiful for many years. July 31st was her last day working at Dido. Thank you Chris for your service to God and for making Dido a wonderful place to worship!

Samaritan House Coordinator Needed

We are currently looking for someone to coordinate putting dinners together, delivering them, and finding volunteers to serve the quarterly meals Dido serves at Samaritan House. The coordinator does not have to do everything themselves, just coordinate it getting done. Samaritan House is a ministry to house the homeless and those with AIDS near the hospital district in Fort Worth. If you would like to coordinate or work with someone else to coordinate, please contact Pastor Jana. Dido usually serves meals the first Sunday in August, November, February, and May.
