Lenten Sermon Series Begins this Sunday, Feb. 21
John 3:16
During Lent, we will study the most recognized, memorized, and loved scripture in all of Christianity: John 3:16. Based on the book John 3:16, The Numbers of Hope by Max Lucado, this series will explain the words of the beloved scripture to help us better understand God's most fundamental and life transforming promise.
February 21 - God Loves

10 Simple Ways to Observe Lent
  1. Read through one of the Gospels: Mark reads like a story and is probably the easiest to get through, but Matthew, Luke, and John work too!
  2. Read a Daily Lenten Devotional: Download the Upper Room or Good News Apps which will give you daily devotionals to read or sign up for their daily emails.
  3. Fast from unnecessary purchases and give the money to charity
  4. Spend one day a week during Lent volunteering. Community Link is in great need of volunteers right now and there is a sign up for it below in THIS newsletter!
  5. Do 40 days of something that will make a difference. Text different people just to see how they're doing. Send an encouragement card daily. Pray for different people each day.
  6. Fast from a specific food. When we fast, the important thing isn't the food. It's the giver of the food. Every time you think of that food you want, thank God for one of your blessings.
  7. Fast from Social Media. Stepping away from social media during Lent prevents us from seeing unedifying content and gives us some silent moments that we can use for extra prayer and Bible reading.
  8. Eliminate a bad habit such as drinking, gossiping, complaining, smoking...etc.
  9. Use a Lenten Calendar: Click here for one!
  10. Take a virtual walk through the Stations of the Cross: Click Here to View one directly from Jerusalem

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
Wednesdays on Zoom (directions below)
11 am to noon
Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl's memoir contains descriptions of life in the Nazi Death Cmps and its lessons for spiritual survival. Although the book is not biblical in nature, we can extrapolate much that is important in our understanding of God and spirituality from it. Books are available at the church for $9.
In-Person Worship is Happening!
Worship - 10:30 am
There are a few items we need to all do each Sunday in order to keep us safe and, if you are uncomfortable at all, you are of course welcome to continue watching online.
  • Wear a mask over your mouth and nose. If you do not own a mask they will be available for you.
  • Sit with your families and 6 feet away from those not in your family. The pews are marked for your convenience.
  • Upon entering or leaving please do not congregate. Ushers will be present to help ensure your safety.
  • There will be no bulletin, no hymnals or other items in the pews, no breakfast or coffee, and offering baskets will be at the entrances and exits rather than passed during the service.
  • Please ASK before shaking another person's hand or giving them a hug (not recommended.)
  • Hand sanitizer is available.
  • Very Important: If you are feeling sick, have a fever, unable to smell or taste, or have any symptoms related to Covid 19 or any other sickness please remain at home and watch online.
Sunday School - 9:15 am (On Zoom and in person. See directions for Zoom below.)
