Diesel Barbershop welcomes Chelsea Renno as VP of Franchise Development

Diesel Barbershop is ramping up their growth strategy by bringing on Chelsea Renno as Vice President of Franchise Development. The decision was decided by leadership as part of a massive initiative to expand their footprint in the quickly growing men's grooming space. Renno has been a critical player in developing a variety of franchise concepts and has extensive history in the early stages of franchise development of Diesel Barbershop. Diesel Barbershop aims to leverage Renno's tremendous talents and success, further establishing the Diesel Barbershop brand as the franchise of choice in the men’s grooming market.

“Having worked with Diesel Barbershop in the past, I’ve long admired them as an industry innovator and forward-thinking company. The growth of their franchise support team, opening of 30+ shops, and happy, successful franchise owners put them in a place for tremendous growth.
I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to build a supercharged, robust and streamlined in-house franchise development team, accelerating the momentum the brand has garnered since its inception.”

Prior to her position as VP of Franchise Development, Renno served as Director of Franchise Development with FranDevCo, where she helped deliver real-world solutions to growing franchise brands. Renno also previously served as Director of Executive Operations at Dudan Partners, where she played a crucial role in franchise development for various franchises in a variety of markets.
In her new position, Renno will report to Eric Bauer, Chief Operating Officer. Her role will include leading the team through the selection, negotiation, and onboarding of Diesel franchises.

Prior to joining the Diesel Barbershop team Renno worked with Bauer when he was exploring Diesel Barbershop as a franchise opportunity. Bauer had looked at close to a dozen concepts during his franchise exploration process, but Renno played a key role in helping him realize how unique Diesel Barbershop’s business proposition was. Her explanation of the brand, atmosphere, and customer experience really spoke to Bauer which led to him purchasing his first location which quickly evolved into him joining the Diesel Barbershop leadership team.

"Renno's proven ability to elevate the Diesel brand through her insight and expertise is a valuable addition to the franchise development initiative," said Bauer. "Her many years of contributions to our brand as a consultant will have a positive impact on our overall brand development strategy, and we only anticipate rapid franchise growth as she fulfills her new role."
About Diesel Barbershop
Diesel Barbershop was born out of founder Shayne Brown's experience growing up around his mother, who worked in a hair salon, where he received a good, reliable cut every time in a clean shop – and with very little drama.

Upon leaving his hometown, Shayne searched far and wide for a similar experience and instead found bad service, terrible cuts, dirty environments, and indifferent attitudes. After working as a Financial Advisor and Real Estate Developer, he started conceptualizing Diesel.

Diesel is the result of that 20+ year journey that included feathered hair, mullets, goatees, and faux hawks.

The first Diesel Barbershop opened in 2011 in San Antonio, TX. It's the modern-day version of the vintage corner barbershop and appeals to what today's customers want in a haircut experience: part barbershop, part old-school record store, and part arcade.

In short, a barbershop with high-quality haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and shoulder massages. All done while having a beverage.
