First year students were welcomed into their home away from home in the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
 
Orientation Week brought days filled with team builders, scavenger hunts and even a night at a museum.


Good self-care habits develop early. The Children’s School designed a "Healthy Mind and Body" curricular theme for its early childhood education program with this in mind.

"Our educators will be introducing mindfulness practices and enhancing what we already do to help our young learners build lifelong habits of well-being," said Sharon Carver.

Roman Kaufman is entering his senior year after an internship with Amazon.
 
"My favorite part has been the entire thing; it's all so new to me that each new sub-challenge and task offers a new realm to get into and learn a lot," Kaufman said.
 
Kaufman focused on implementing a search bar on a seller facing site.

Back by popular demand, take a look at some of the many incredible classes being offered this fall by Carnegie Mellon University’s Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Behind every Apple user’s favorite virtual assistant is a CMU alumna. Enrica Rosato , who graduated with a degree in linguistics, took a job with the tech company in February.
 
At Apple, Rosato uses her linguistics background to plan and organize the projects that collect human annotation data, which helps train models to understand natural language.
