Greetings!

This week we're presenting Fuller Craft Museum, Burlington City Arts, and Armenian Museum of America.

Emotion is at the heart of why many artists do what they do. This week's exhibitions ask viewers to open themselves to feelings of grief, catharsis, and all the emotions that can emerge when music and art are presented together.

The September/October edition of Artscope Magazine is now available at a gallery, museum or arts organization near you. Want more Artscope? Visit artscopemagazine.com and sign up for online access to see all of our articles, reviews, spotlights and profiles any time, anywhere.

Fuller Craft Museum presents Nancy Callan and Katherine Gray: The Clown in Me Loves You, the result of a four-year collaboration between West-coast glass artists Nancy Callan and Katherine Gray that is a "sculpted fusion of kitsch and catharsis." The artists seek to explore reactions to "clowns" and all that the word entails - "whether found in childhood memories, in circuses and parades, among those we love, or in our political worlds, clowns are ubiquitous." The artists hope to elicit associations and emotions, and mine "complex social commentaries." This exhibition is sponsored by Artscope Magazine. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fuller Craft Museum is located at 455 Oak Street, Brockton MA. For more information, please visit here.

Grief, Loss and Mourning, a show that, as the title suggests, explores "personal and collective encounters with grief" through the work of artists Peter Bruun, Bethany Collins, Jordan Douglas, Mariam Ghani, Lydia Kern, John Killacky, Nirmal Raja, and Jamel Robinson. Through photography, painting, video, and installation, these eight artists challenge "the finality of loss, inviting us to embrace grief as a shared yet deeply individual journey." The opening rececption will be held on Friday, Sept. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. The museum is open Wednesday and Saturday from 12 to 8 p.m., and Thursday and Friday from 12 to 5 p.m. Burlington City Arts is located at 135 Church Street, Burlington, Vermont. Armenian Museum of America presents The Art of Disruption: The Art and Impact of Serj Tankian, a "milestone" exhibition that celebrates the "creative, activist, and diasporic journey" of artist, poet, human rights advocate and System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian. Coupled with music written for the artwork in the exhibition, this is a multimedia experience that melds visuals and audio with a strong message to bring human emotions and experiences to the forefront. The exhibition also includes Tankian's video installations, poems and personal artifacts. The museum is open Thursday to Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. The Armenian Museum of America is located at 65 Main Street, Watertown, MA. For more information, please visit here.
