Welcome and Introductions:
Phil Dalton welcomed all who were able to join the teleconference and provided an overview of the agenda and format of the call.
- These scheduled calls are simply one format of our ongoing communication to members.
- Our last call was back in February where details were provided on a few major projects the Digital Coalition was supporting.
- There have been newsletters updates that have provided details on forms that were posted to the EMR Resources repository.
- We hope that you have found these communications useful.
Digital Coalition Spread:
Rachel LaBonté provided the group with an overview of how the word of the Digital Coalition is spreading…. quickly….
- Two regions have reached out regarding our work – Mississauga Halton, and North West LHIN
- Champlain LHIN has also reached out, we are in the process of arranging a virtual meeting.
- We have met with Health Quality Ontario – they have featured Partnering for Quality and the Digital Coalition in one of their recent Quorum Posts. Click here to read the post!
- We will also be featured in the HQO “Measuring Up” report
Fall Conferences:
Did you know that the outstanding work of the Digital Coalition will be recognized at the following conferences?
- Ontario MD: we have been invited to provide an oral presentation
- AFHTO: we have been invited to provide an oral presentation and also have been nominated for a Bright Lights Award!
- OCFP: Dr. Gill will be receiving the “Award of Excellence – Canadian College of Family Physicians” largely in part for his leadership with the Digital Coalition. CONGRATULATIONS Dr. Gill!
South West LHIN Communication from CEO Renato Discenza
A communique was sent out to all Hospital CEO’s on Tuesday July 23, 2019. In this memo, a copy of the “push back” letter was included.
- This “letter” has been posted to the swpca.ca website under the EMR Resources – DC Toolkit. Click here to view letter.
- Please feel free to use this letter – we would welcome any feedback from your experience using it…..
Current State – Update:
Rachel LaBonté acknowledged all the work the coalition has accomplished so far since our initial working group in Summer of 2019 and the official launch in December 2018!
- A work stream document has been developed and posted to the EMR Resources – DC Toolkit
- This document outlines all the work that has happened in the background – amazing to see on “paper” what we have accomplished!
- This document is a “living document” and updates will be made as we move forward.
Forms Management:
- Accepting requests for digitizing forms (for Accuro and PSS), prioritizing the requests, coordinating the initial build, sending the drafted form for some “quality control” through our testers, editing based on tester feedback, posting and communicating the completion of the form….. all takes time!
- How do we best communicate what is out there – in terms of new or updated referral forms? Suggestion from one of our calls was to share what is in the queue – as you may have noticed, there is now a section of our newsletters dedicated to “Queue Snapshot”
Building Queue:
- We are in the initial stages of moving our own internal queue of form requests to the pool of builders as a live document.
- We will be reaching out to a few members to complete a PDSA of working with this live queue document
- Updates will be provided to the entire group on how this new platform is progressing
Forms Communication:
- We will continue to adhere to the previously agreed upon quarterly schedule of newsletter releases – look for one in your inbox the end of August
- The forms that were listed in the previous newsletter are from health service providers in the south and central part of the South West geography – if there are any additions to be made from the North, please forward those requests to info@partneringforquality.ca
What to look for next?
- We are in the planning phases for a Fall 2019 (yikes!) Digital Coalition Meeting – we want to hear from you on the format of the day.
- Please take a few minutes to complete the survey…. based on the majority of votes, we can move forward with planning. Survey will remain open until August 26th.

The Digital Coalition has expanded to the social media realm…..
