Important EYC Update + Message for Our College Parishioners

We appear to be having some technical difficulties with the email list for our EYC. Some emails are not being received while others with known email addresses are coming back as invalid. Currently it seems the quickest and most complete way to correct this is to create an entirely new list serve with a new registration  for all youth. Therefore, all youth, and their parents, are asked to email The Rev John Hogg directly with your name and current email in the body of the email. This way we can cut and paste the exact email address into our system. If you wish, including your phone number would be helpful in the future. We apologize for this inconvenience (and for the apparent interruption in our communications) We hope everyone is doing as well as they can during these times and hopefully we can set up some virtual meetings with everyone very soon.

To our college parishioners, we are hoping and praying you are doing well in these uncertain times. Whether you are at home or have remained near campus we know this has to be difficult and one that no one expected or even planned for when they started classes this winter. All Saints is here for you and we want to help you if we can. For starters, we would like to create a group of your peers that are all dealing with the same issues, the good and the bad. If you are interested, please email the Rev. John Hogg with your contact info. We hope to start with hosting a virtual "happy" hour via zoom sometime soon and then let you as a group take it from there.
Outreach Updates

Thank you to everyone for your continued support of "Feeding the Saints" Your generous donations of treasure and spirit are helping many in ways we only hoped for. Especially with the Grocery Cards, which have turned out to be a tremendous help to some local families (see below). Please remember that in addition to assisting families in the surrounding community "feeding the Saints" was established to help within our parish during these challenging times. With the steady increase of unemployment, we are sensitive to the fact that more families will be affected in ways they could not have planned for in normal times. If you need help or assistance please do not hesitate to contact anyone of the following individuals The Rev. John Hogg, Jimmy Drean, Warren Hunter, Dan Vallandingham, or Kelly Vidunas. All requests and communications will be handled discreetly and confidentially.

If you would like to donate to "Feeding the Saints", you can do so online using this link   or send a check (made out to "All Saints Episcopal Church" with "Feeding the Saints" in the memo line) to the church office (8787 River Rd, Richmo nd, VA 23229).

Below are highlights from an email we received recently from a social worker who is working with us to identify the school families and coordinate getting them the needed grocery cards. If you would like to read the entire email, please click this link.
  • A family received the gift cards and they are just so overwhelmed by the kindness at All Saints Episcopal. [Family] shared that they are struggling financially and to be able to use what was going to be grocery money to put towards keeping the lights on made all the difference in the world.
  • while things are extremely hard financially and emotionally, [Family] is completely overcome by the gestures of kindness he and his family have been shown from by people who don't even know him or his family.
  • "I don't believe in coincidences, this is God telling me not to give up, that he's got me." [Family] sends their sincere gratitude to the congregation for you all have reminded [them] that there is still so much good and love in this world.
  • church [is] making a huge difference in these tough times. If you do collect anything else, Walmart might be a good place as well. That way, they can get more than just food if they need it.
