Outreach Update
Thanks to your generous donations and hours of volunteer service, the congregation of All Saint’s helped Welborne Food Pantry feed over 230 people last week alone. We cannot thank everyone enough and we hope to keep it going. This is truly a priceless ministry serving families in our immediate area during this crucial time

If you’re looking to volunteer, the Food Pantry needs you!!! They especially need volunteers on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10am-12pm and Monday evenings 4:30-6:30pm. They are looking for about 6-8 people, youth and adults are both welcome. Please send an email if you can help or have questions.

We are still accepting grocery and Walmart donations to support local families who are need. We are also still taking donations for our ministry Feeding the Saints. Donations to this fund go towards helping our own parishioners and can be made online or by check (with "Feeding the Saints" in the memo line).

All donations (school supplies, canned food, etc.) can now be left in the green shed outside of the playground. The shed is checked regularly. We ask that gift cards and checks be mailed to the church or left in the drop box outside the main entrance.

If you have any questions, or would like to get involved in these vital ministries, please email The Rev. John Hogg, Kelly Vidunas, or Warren Hunter.

In addition, we are also collecting school supplies for the Middle School families we have been helping throughout this pandemic. Donations can be dropped off in the Preschool Portico at All Saints.

Seeking Musicians for the 9:00 AM Service

As you know, we’re doing worship in different ways this Fall, due to the pandemic. Starting this week, we’ll have three different worship offerings – two of which will involve music! If you would like share your musical skills in worship, here’s your chance. We are seeking musicians to play or sing for the 9:00 AM service, which is held, weather permitting, on the church patio. Any sort of musical style is most welcome - from vocal solos to violin recital pieces, guitar with vocals or piano solos. No one is too young or old to offer their gifts to God!
Please contact Scott Hayes to let him know of your interest!

Christian Education News & Updates
Brought to you by ChurchNext and FORMA, Episcopal Formation Organizations

Even if we can’t physically worship and learn together, we can still draw closer to Jesus Christ. That’s the aim of a new learning experience called “This is NOT Sunday School.” This free, weekly online resource is intergenerational, making it a perfect tool for families and people of all ages.

Free sessions of This is NOT Sunday School will launch weekly starting September 16, and you can sign up on the ChurchNext website today. Each week’s session features video teaching by a professional from the Christian formation network, Forma, as well as downloadable lessons and readings. Sessions use Forward Movement’s Exploring the Bible curriculum, which includes many of the most famous stories in the Bible. Families can pick the time and space that works for them to come together, learn about the Bible and one another, and draw closer to Jesus Christ.
We are excited to introduce our new Christian Formation program,
Sunday Jam, which is similar to our VBS To Go Kits. Each month we’ll send home four lessons complete with crafts and suggested videos for children ages 3-5th grade.

Parents can email us to order kits for their kids.

Pick-ups will be at the 9 am service on Oct. 4 or Monday, Oct. 5th at 5 pm. Please tell us your child’s name and age when reserving a kit.

Deadline to order the first kit will be September 27.
We’re looking at three upcoming Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. — September 23rd and October 14th to cover some of the material that we believed needed to be in-person, and on October 28th we would like to invite your parents. On both September 23rd and October 14th, we will have canned drinks and pizza (vegetarian options available). We will serve with gloves and masks, but if you aren’t comfortable with pizza, please bring your own meal.

Here’s the plan:

  • September 23: Check-in, update on what’s going on, and a chance for you to discuss your thoughts on confirmation.
  • October 14th: Discussions of material yet to be covered — the Bible, sacraments, ++
  • October 28th: Dinner with confirmands and parents.

At this time, we don't know when confirmation will be celebrated, but John and I want to be sure that when the time comes, you’ll be ready!

Would you please share these dates with your parents and let John or me know if you’ll be able to attend.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Yours in Christ,
Rosemary and John

Please email The Rev. John Hogg with any questions.
