Hello Morningside families!

As we close the book on another awesome school year at MES, we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all of our wonderful families, students, teachers, administrators, and staff members! This year has been full of fun, community, togetherness, learning, and joy, none of which would have been possible without the efforts of each and every one of you.

Before we sign off for the summer, we wanted to share some brief reminders about when you can expect Back to School information to come out for next year, a note of gratitude from the MES Foundation, and a photo review of some of our PTA activities from this past spring. We also wanted to remind you all that with a big move back to our home on East Rock Springs right around the corner, and several PTA events happening right out of the gate in August and September, the opportunities to get involved will not stop over the summer. If you'd like to help out, please complete this MES PTA Volunteer Interest Form and we'll be sure to contact you over the summer.

Summer Reminders to Prepare for Next Year!

School Supply Kits for 2023-2024

We have partnered with School Specialty to provide an online order portal for supply kits for the upcoming school year. This is an optional service and will be offered for placing orders to be delivered directly to your home. The portal opens TODAY and will close on June 2nd, so don't wait if you want to take advantage of this service! The ordering portal is www.shopttkits.com and our school code is 66077.

If you prefer to shop elsewhere for your school supplies, you can find all of the supply lists organized by grade level on the MES School Supply List webpage.

Re-Registration for Rising 1st – 5th Grade Students

If you have returning students rising into Grades 1-5 and you have not yet done so, please be sure to verify that your information is up to date with Atlanta Public Schools for the 2023-2024 School Year. Please visit HERE for full details.

2023-2024 Class Lists

Class lists will be available in Infinite Campus Parent Portal at the end of July (exact date TBD). Lists will also be posted on the doors of the school on the same day. Check back here for more details as they become available.

2023-2024 Bus Route Information

Bus routes, when made available from APS Transportation, (typically late July) will be posted on the MES website! It is at that time that all families will fill out the MES Transportation Form. You can find all of the information related to transportation for the 2023-2024 school year on the MES Transportation webpage. We will also send reminders via Campus Messenger when information becomes available.

Meet and Greet at MES

This opportunity to meet the teachers and see classrooms will take place in late July - more details will be sent via Campus Messenger in July one they are available!

Back To School Night for Parents

This opportunity for parents to hear from teachers about classroom plans and curricula for the year will take place in mid-August. Expect a specific date for Back to School Night and fall PTA events to come out in July!

A Word of Thanks from the MES Foundation

The MES Foundation thanks our generous donors, which allowed us to support MES administrators, teachers, and our school community in the 22-23 school year. We provide a year-end letter detailing our accomplishments on the MES Foundation website and wish you all a wonderful summer!
