Thanks to the generosity of those here at SUMC, all the tags on the Angel Tree have been taken. Please remember to put the gifts in a gift bag or box if the gift is breakable and not to wrap with gift wrap. Bring the gifts to the church by Sunday, December 8th and again, thank you for your generous support.
Advent Small Group Guide
December can be a busy month, but a busy schedule doesn't have to control you! Schedule in some time to spend with your church family by joining in a book study. We all need more peace, hope, love, and joy found in Christ.

First, order the book Almost Christmas: A Wesleyan Advent Experience. The United Methodist Publishing House has it for sale on Cokesbury.com for $11.50.

Second, pick a group from the list below and show up with the first two chapters read (if you have the chance). Please email the leader of the group so they can be properly prepared.

You may want to reach out to some friends and start your own Advent group meeting. Please do so! Let Pastor Brody know so he can keep count of how many are involved and support you in any way possible.

Last, be sure to come to worship on Sundays, as the sermon series will follow this study.

* December 8th and 22nd, 1:00 p.m. at SUMC

Blessing Bags
This Advent we are going to spread hope, and Blessing Bags is one way we can do so. As we prepare for the coming of Christ, we are to help take care of one another. Loving our neighbor has no boundaries, so we are going to prepare Blessing Bags to be able to hand to people in need.

Each week, please bring some of the items below if you are able. We will then have the youth and any other volunteers put the bags together on Wednesday, December 18th and everyone can take one after worship on Sunday, December 22nd and share it with someone you encounter who might need it.

12/1: socks, gloves, hats
12/8: granola bars, juice pouches
12/15: hand warmers, hand lotion, lip balm, travel sized tissues
Notes of Gratitude
All God's Children would like to thank Mary Bryan for her years of service on our board. As a church member she has brought great insight from one end of the church building to the next. We appreciate all the input, thoughts and prayers
she has given AGC and she will be missed.
SUMC Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service
Please join us Sunday, November 24th, 4:00 p.m. at SUMC for an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service and soup supper to follow. We join up with Ely Presbyterian Church and Ely Lutheran Church for a few services each year. It is fun to come together for fellowship and to worship Jesus together. If you would be willing to help with this event, please talk to Pastor Brody and he will point you in the right direction.
Mature Active Super Seniors
Thanksgiving Brunch
MASS Thanksgiving Brunch is on Friday, November 22nd at the church from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and food will be provided. Please bring a non-perishable item to share in Thanksgiving Baskets. Come for warm fellowship and grateful hearts. Thanks be to God!
College Care Packages
Pastor Brody recently preached about how each of us are fans of each other in the church and we should cheer each other on. What better way of doing this for the young adults of our church than to send them college care packages just prior to their finals wees. If you have a son or daughter that would appreciate a college care package then please submit their name, address and school to Sue Slattery no later than Sunday, December 1st. There will also be a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center of the church. Financial donations to help off set the cost of the postage are always appreciated and may be placed in the offering or dropped off in the church office.
Christmas Caroling
Help spread Christmas joy through music and fellowship on Sunday, December 1st for Christmas Caroling. We will meet at the church at 3:00 p.m. and music will be provided. Bring your holiday sparkle as we travel the neighborhood to entertain our older members with carols of our Savior's birth! Potluck to follow at the church. Make a joyful noise!
Pajama Day!

Coordinating Our Building Use
Are you needing a place at the church for a committee meeting or event? Please note that ALL scheduling of the building's use must be cleared and scheduled through Julie in the church office. This is not a "permission" issue, but we do need this central location for keeping track of the building's activities (we are thankful to be able to host a growing number of Boy and Girl Scouts this year!). Just drop an email or phone the office (848-7213), so there are no surprises. Thank you!
