Mission Update
As a follow-up to Pastor Brody's Blurb last Sunday, our church has witnessed many volunteers sharing of their time, gifts and resources, keeping both the inside and outside of our church in good shape. This is mission work! Thanks to all the volunteers! Upcoming scheduled fall projects include a general clean-up behind the shed and the painting of the shed by the high school youth. We have volunteer church members who have expertise in landscaping and they will assist with trimming at the appropriate time in the spring.
Support All God's Children
All God's Children is excited to present the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Enjoy the City coupon book. Cost of the book is $25 and offers hundreds of buy one get one free discounts, with many other discounts from local merchants. AGC receives $12.50 for every book sold
and funds generated will be used for projects that will directly benefit AGC's children. Books can be purchased at the AGC office or by the following link:

AGC Board Recruitment
All God's Children
The All God's Children program is an
outreach ministry of the Shueyville
United Methodist Church Church.
AGC's board members are asked to make a three year commitment and they serve as the oversight committee of AGC under the umbrella of SUMC. It is the Board's responsibility to make financially prudent salary and budget decisions, as well as keeping informed about the staff and what is going on inside all programs. If you would be interested in joining our board or finding out more information about this entails, contact AGC's Director Ali Huebner.
Crop Hunger Walk
Crop Hunger Walk will be held on
October 6th at Ely Park. Send off will be at 1:00 p.m. You may pick up an
envelope at the church office if you plan to attend. Please support our walkers! You may also contribute on line at crophungerwalk.org/elyia. Thank you in advance for your
support.
Prairie High School
Grab and Go Pantry
Prairie High School Grab and Go Pantry is always in need of snacks for their students. As a way to help, SUMC is asking for your help by donations of granola bars, fruit snacks, cereal bars, cheese crackers, etc. There is a blue tote in the lobby near the UMW corner for donation items. Collections will be accepted now through April.

Coordinating Our Building Use
Are you needing a place at the church for a committee meeting or event? Please note that ALL scheduling of the building's use must be cleared and scheduled through Julie in the church office. This is not a "permission" issue, but we do need this central location for keeping track of the building's activities (we are thankful to be able to host a growing number of Boy and Girl Scouts this year!). Just drop an email or phone the office (848-7213), so there are no surprises. Thank you!
